The melody remains the same

The melody remains the same

A Poem by Dayran
"

A different dance

"

A new generation raises a new dance,

Tip, tap, tippity, toe...Tip, tap, tippity toe,

Swirls around, breaks from the corner,

Dashes to the center stage, its arms spread out,

Soon its the whole stage, its demeanor free.

Draws the on-the-spot dancers to fill in,

Taking a chance, a different twist at the waist,

Up and down, to and fro, the rhythms glide and flow,

Then somebody leaps through the air with legs stretched,

And embraces the air, alone but comfortably toned,

A new dance, its terrifying, invigorating, numbing,

While the melody still remains the same.

This reminds me of the "Irish Riverdance" for some reason... Maybe it's because of the words that describe the dance. I love the line "A new dance, its terrifying, invigorating, numbing," describes just how learning a new dance is.

as a dance alone...i could see you there doing a pirrohette and smiled...as applies to life...yes...an emotional roller coaster...sometimes very draining...other times rewarding...Love the picture of the musical note in the corner...makes me think of a music box...as though if i click on it it will play a soft and lovely tune. and as for the dancer..i could gaze at her all day. thanks...lovely poem.
