GethsemaneA Poem by DayranThe garden of eternal youth
Light like mists, softly embracing, fills the air, The wind sailed through the trees tickling the leaves. A curious form floated on the waters in the pool, Its slender body gliding through the warm waters. Rising silently she walked through the olive groves, Her mind, was distracted by the shadowy dapples. That which providence gave off so generously, Becomes twisted into a self serving avarice. She was looking for him, he that fought the menace, A young man so full of hope and redeeming values. She feared for him the way Venus feared for Adonais, Such ways of Greed that bends all to blame another. In the southern constellations, chameleon awoke, Telescopium stretched to view the scene in the garden. Then they spoke. ' Come to learn true knowledge?' She heard the voice in the wind but ignored it. The lie in providence, expressing itself regretfully, With a voice that's rueful and slow of rhythm, Rhetorically played in her mind, that fateful day, And then it was gone, another memory in posterity. As she gently turned, to leave the garden grove, The rays of the sun played on her golden hair, She tossed it in the breeze, with a twist of her head, After all, she said to herself casually, it’s just a mane. © 2011 Dayran |
