The Cambrian Double

The Cambrian Double

A Poem by Dayran
"

Self Reflection

"

There's one who has travelled far,

All the way from the Cambrian era,

Knows all, intuits everything and is passion made.

The other is the rational man, born at this time,

And studies the other to know his past and self.

Both are identical as to dream and expectation,

Each looks to the other for its aspiration.

A strange custom that arises in their relations,

Points to that beyond logic and substance,

Says, the man today set the architecture of life,

That the human is the father of the universe,

The founder of all thought, desire and soul,

That there's no greater intelligent being before or after,

We are it! As we evolve into a new species in the future,

We are the guide to the early Cambrian, our child,

Who seeks to unite with the father once again,

In a unconscious cognition of its identity in matter.

The discoveries unfold in a never ending spectacle,

Will I know more? Only in a lifetime of learning.

Hi there,

I enjoyed the emotive pull of this poem. Just a very pedantic note that the Cambrian is a period (not an era). Eras are larger units of historical time.

I am a total science geek. Otherwise, I loved your poem! :)

My Dear Writing Friend,
What a unique and creative write. I have posted a couple of word definitions for those whom might not know them as I see them as keys to unlocking this write, worthy of musing. They are the words Cambrian and intuits.
I found this poem thought provoking and creative. My hope for you is you will know more and you will have many years of learning in you future.

Blessings, Laughing-Bear

This gave me the chills, so much information and I enjoyed every bit of it. Truthful and honest, it takes a lifetime of learning to discover who we really are. Wonderfully written!
