A One World Tale

A One World Tale

A Poem by Dayran
"

A greater self

"

a satire of the fashions by W. Heath 1830

Could it be true? Is it happening?

That which the bards sang,

Melodious, dreamy, half-assed songs?

Pinch me, Set, my mind's gone numb.

Who would have thought they'll come together,

Brigands, thieves, sons of murderers,

The pitiful humans that we nourished for ages,

You think they're going to do it this time?

Bah! More hopes and promises, cry babies,

Pigs and goats will lead the babble.

Well okay, give't the benefit of doubt, you say?

Who am I to say no, dongkeys that never did

An honest day's work. Recited my scripts,

Called it their own. Mimics, apes,

What do they know what a mind is.

Me, a gadfly? In a pig's eye!

But the lady is beautiful looking,

A hint of the tragic you think?

Here we go, shiny knights to the rescue, again.

The poem told a story of all places. Hard to find peace and a safe place anywhere. I like your many strong quotes.

Thank you for a excellent poem.
