Footpath for One

Footpath for One

A Poem by Dayran
"

Who must do the hard things? Those who can!

"

We did it before and will again,

The walk that only one can take.

When every event brings it back to you,

There, every word refers to one like you.

Bold in its self, needing none else,

The mind steers a drive through all life.

When we pause to understand we realize,

How it came to be formed in all its wise,

Not through friends, lovers or family,

But had sat alone, its thoughts its only company.

Alone but not lonely, poignant but not sad,

The thoughts look, perceive and find its staid.

Itself the cultivation, the contrivance and patent,

Traded with mother, father and for its company,

Will someday find again its own will and love,

When all is to it like its own seeds sown,

Then walk it will, the path of the lone.

Your words are true. The final journey. We all must take and hope for a better place. A excellent poem.

Truth lyrically presented and pleasant to peruse.
Very fine work, Sri.
