Almost a sweet Self

Almost a sweet Self

A Poem by Dayran
"

Because its not completely sweet

"

I didn't think I would, but I am

I'm starting to like myself for what I am,

And that's because the world's the way it is,

Also because women are .....hmm women?

A curiosity in a male culture....to like oneself,

Takes something away from another,

The better half, we used to call her, still is, I expect.

I like getting old, I used to like being young,

I like making mistakes, nothing wrong with that,

Much harder to live in the alleyways of those who can't,

I like facing up to things. I like my fellow men.

I adore children, they run circles around me.

I'm a fool for allowing it. They don't truly know,

They speak innocently. I've found something new, but,

I used to like it, and still would, if could.

A bittersweet struggle, nicely picked words. I am being curious about the picture as well, where could those mountains be and what could they hold? :)
