Hatshetput

Hatshetput

A Poem by Dayran
"

Pharoah of the two lands

"

In the time, when men were gods and women their wives

There rose in the middle lands, a daughter who would be god.

Broke the conventions, ignored all protests

Showed the mind of woman to be exact

Considered today to have been one of the most successful

She came to be called, the Foremost of noble ladies.

But before that, she was the most lost lady of the time

Fought her father, brother, then husband

Then the armies of the Nubia, Syria and the Levant

Not to mention, her own alter ego male half.

But Hatshetput also built and build she did,

An empire, unrivalled for a thousand years.

What would posterity say of such an event?

That she had balls or was highly strung?

One account says, she was god's wife.

And succeeding Pharoahs all but erased memories of her.

But the lady loved the sweet scent of myrrh trees

And she was herself, the woman who was King!

You might need to add 1 or 2 more spaces after the pic to correct the indentation. I thought you were speaking of Isis.....I Googled it, and I see now they are "almost one in the same". An enjoyable read my friend.
