Daily Chores

A Poem by Dayran
"

Heaven and the middle class at the same address.

"

The Brahmanic was never a self sufficient faith

The  Abramanic and Ishmanic are brothers to its saith

Like parents with a child, it raises them while being raised

Until someday, the son is unto the man, the father great.

Each life in turn comes to take a part

A cycle of samsara, of living and depart

It is us we see, each day as we be

Many different rivers that flow to the sea

Its a carnival of delight, fresh from the start,

Step up! Step up! See the man from Carlsbad

Half man, half horse but all heart

Speaks of redemption like a lark in flight.

The transcendent is not the physical

Pay your taxes while you're mythical

Its how we convert the symbols to the psyche

The middle class life just became very busy.

Send the kids to school in the morning

Make a suggestion at the factory, for the packaging

Mow the lawn in the weekend

Get the license for the hunting camp

And along the way, know Zeus from the Christ

Ask why the baby cries at dusk

Give up the Chrysler, get a reconditioned mustang.

There's a part of it, the life we intend.

I love this piece and all your work in general and think you are in a league of your own way above us mere mortals. You have made the point so uniquely and full of flavour and colour about religons being the distraction drug that keeps us from falling into insanity because of the harsh reality and mundanity of our seemingly meaningless normal routines.

More than a truth it's a fact! Psychological thoughts and experiences we though come across as we climb up the ladder! You beautifully picturized and it quite easily resembled the mild and at the same time never satisfying human mind! My words mostly seems to be a paradox :P

Sri writes scholarly, well thought out literature, and this is no exception. Enjoyed this a lot, I`m not too sure I understand the Carlsbad line , do you mean the German now Czech town, birthplace of a poet ?. Anyway, clever ironical poem that made me stop and look at it with care, good write.

Image-rich, lyrical and uniquely perceptive.
