The Secret of FireA Story by DayranWiccan ScienceAncient sources would have you believe … that the secret of fire … is synonymous with the secrets of life. But its later development … attributed the notion of fire … to the origin of the passions. A modern translation of the same experience … brings fire closer to the notion of love. Its the profound play of creation … with itself … producing the knowledge of the self … as its ultimate prize. Its the enthos of satisfaction … it seeks about itself.
It began with dreams … a play of Maya … or Magick … that is in need of a greater familiarization … by western practices … to be raised as a cultural norm in their affairs. Its a great benefit to provide recognition to Wiccan … as part of the social norm of society … and to undertake its practice … with a professional nature. In the East … such practices … first undertaken by Kali … had evolved into a worship of Kali as Goddess by the initiatives of Siva. Today attempts are made to present Kali worship … as the domain of creation.
Its the secret of fire … or of love … and its understanding is crucial … to re-discover love in the life of society. Kali's reputation … as merciful even in her destructiveness … is a reference to her actions in destroying ignorance … and raising the true understanding. She is the initiative behind the social circle … that supports the one … who will one day walk the last mile to the salvation of mankind. Traces of a similar practice emerge elsewhere … in a different manner of practice of the same.
In the … Legend of King Arthur … a curious practice of Warlocks and Witches … brought a peculiar trace of the Maya … to Brit social norms. The one who was prepped for the final victory … King Arthur … was put through his paces … in the exercise … for the deliverance of man. As a scheme of the magick … its par excellent … in the way the genius of the bard … brought the one to realize … what he must do. It implores the one to look again … at wife … son … sister … friend … kingdom … magick … in the circle of love's experience. In a final comment it points to Avalon … across the sea … as Arthur's resting place.
The genius of the story … that inspired heroic ideals … today brings to us … the peculiar relations between the people of Britain … and Canada … beyond the Newfoundland peninsular. Its an intimation of the issues … associated with human society … that defies normal logic … and challenges the people living in these parts … to review their relations again. It points to the normally staid British attitudes … and raises it to the point of a spear … in the son of the King. Such are the secrets of fire … we harbor in us … waiting for its revelation to our understanding.
The Wiccan … expression of the experience … found a new message in Christianity … that brought the doctrine of death and resurrection. But the folks who claim that they are the Christ … in our societies today … miss the critical nature of the living experience. A Canadian or Brit … born to the task … would know in the mirror of his social relations … and the privacy of his individual nature … the stirrings of magick … on the issues. Its possible … that for a while … his mind would be given over to something else … but a stout faith … would preserve him … and not let him fall into ridicule.
In the East … its such a common experience … among folks in India and China … to find themselves given over to the experience of a man-god … for a duration in their lives. It brings a strange pall of the pale … in the public view of such societies … but what goes on in their lives … is real. I certainly found that out in my own … and organized my lifestyle to fit into its … clandestine revelations. Each day … every small event … eventually builds a torrent of new knowledge … about man … that has been completely astounding to me.
Its the process of the humanization of society … and to clear the deck of the callous and hasty ways … in which we create our achievements … and to usher in … a gentler … fact based recourse … to help steer our natures. It is to get beyond the expectations of privileges … as a natural birth right … and to cultivate a new knowledge … based on the equality of all men. In that lies our individual salvation … and that of the world's society.
I recall a school play I had participated … in the role of the father of a family. Everybody seemed to say … it was well done. It left me wondering how I did that. Did I prep for it … with dreams of how I might have run the family … if I had been father? Or was it the simple expectations … I used to have of the role of father in the home. I would have been deadly embarrassed if anyone had known that … but on stage … in the play … it had seemed allright … to show that I had been dream-thinking about it.
The mere infantile nature of the dream-thoughts … sometimes makes us cringe … in the ridicule of its exercise. Yet we know we did it. What's the significance of confessing to it today … in the life of the grown-up? That it wasn't so ridiculous at all … not when we realize that its the fire of the life force in us. And therein … lies the secrets of fire … in the milk puddle of the bosom … waiting for us … to declare that we used to look into the face of something much bigger … before we had the wherewithal ...to take it on.
We used to speak of it in the comic … or the macabre. But today … in the throes of the blazing fire … we realize we would never have exposed ourselves on it … if we were not in some way driven to do so. And what's wrong with that? We used to play at it … be inspired by others … take to stories and legends … but we will not admit that we had an intent about it? Would we like to try that again? I think we might.
Indic legends refer to a Bali … in its early depiction of life in these parts. And today … the island of Bali in Indonesia … remains the only Hindu based culture in that largest Muslim nation … having held out against other influences. I wonder about that sometimes … especially since Bali … was depicted as a component of the infantile milk puddle experience … in Indic stories. Its possible that influenced me … in the depiction of the Canadian / Brit relations.
