Saying It Like It IsA Story by DayranThe Male ProformaAsk any man … what he truly thinks of himself … and he'll say … ' That I am supremely capable … and the world revolves around me.' But what of the woman … your companion in life? ' She knows … and I believe … she complies with the support for me to be so engaged. But then … in another life … I take on the role of the female … and she is the male … and we relate the same way.' And its in support of the male ability … to reach perfection … in his knowledge of the self? ' Certainly … its something that's achieved only in the male intellect.'
With my apologies to the male population of the world … for revealing something … obviously sacrosanct … I would like to request for their forbearance … until I finish making my point. The fact is our gender relations … relies on something like I suggested … whether or not they are undertaking it … volitionally or in a daze of the dream. The point I'm making is … wouldn't it be better … if we could come to accept it as fact in our lives … and organize ourselves to deal with it? Its certainly the mark of civilization.
But getting there … has been a witch hunt … of suspicions … doubts … and disappointments in love. In moving from the dream to the fact … we encounter much in the way … that relies on tolerance in gender relations … and our societies have since brought themselves … to organize for it … otherwise reproduction may well come to a halt. Our practices … and the importance we generate … for the equality of the genders … ignores a fundamental element in evolution's strive for achievement. It relies on our knowledge of ourselves … in order to advance itself to perfection.
There's no doubt that … we have encountered … some of the worst practices … with regards to the observation of the precept in physical experience. It grants a … carte blanche … to the male … for all kinds of misdeeds … that are abhorrent in a civil society. But something in the nature of a … judgement day … dawns on the male in life … and he falls into a deep sea of regret … that may well …. accompany him till death. Its an experience … that audits the books … on gender relations.
My own experience … is very illustrative. I was diagnosed with … clinical depression … at 27 … and I had to search heaven and hell … to find the cause of my melancholy. Prior to that … I had experienced the male proforma … in my teens … and thought his idea of himself was entirely hilarious … and without basis in reality. But I had picked up a habit from there … that always referred to myself … in my social communication. It was a self affirmation... as regards things that I did … that sought to assure me of my capability. It was the basis of my self confidence.
Once I got to work … and the social circle of friends … I was more than happy … to give the boot … to my grandiose notions of the male. Chucked it away like nonsense … and anyone I encountered in my social circle … that continued that way … received the brunt of my disapproval … as regards proper gentlemanly conduct. I didn't entertain any buts about it … and sometimes came to blows … in an argument … even with my best friend.
When the fall came … I was still assured on the propriety of my attitudes … and then it led me down another door … one I hadn't seen before … and once there … had my introduction to the male imperative in life. It no doubt understood the importance of our social customs … but continued to persists on the … life's conditions for survival and the role of the male. And here's where I had to engage again … the male proforma … that I had so easily dismissed in my teens. So I took some time to look at it again.
An imperative about the viability of life … need not contradict our social concerns … provided the male … brings a decorum and transparency … in the way he communicates that to others. Its the pariah … in social natures … and quite often leads the individual down the road of the sociopath. It has a highly disruptive effect on the social values … and an individual would do well … to take some time … to be on his own … to discern its qualities … for sustaining life … but to avoid the ' tag along ' attitude of the social herd.
In taking to the fall … the male intellect … in promoting its cause … displayed its own difficulties … in uniting the qualities of the self's importance and social concerns. It placed itself in the position of the underdog … and made notes of the way … society transacts its affairs … in the name of sustainable growth. As regards female qualities … he came to observe an attitude of carefree concerns … that simply relied on the … ' feel good ' … as the basis of what is right. It all added up to quite a list of … ' to note ' … that gradually changes the individual's attitude … about the male intrinsic identity.
The point is to arrive at a … coherent sense of self … that does not contradict the individual's other concerns about proprietary manners. Its the warrior's last stand … of Castaneda … The Art of War … of Sun Tzu … Nietzsche's … Superman … the jihad of the Moslem … and Vasudeva's … Mahabaratha. Its a learning disposition that engages … the highest ethics … about the human condition … and is very hard on itself … for any transgression of the rules. Its the protocol of the male … the bushido of the samurai … and the .. hiding in plain sight … of the English gentleman.
Its the mysterious aura … that surrounds life in society … and offers itself to view … only under conditions of … the utmost peace and understanding. It reveals itself to saints … who then promote the practice of … death and resurrection of the male condition. One happy piece of news … comes to us in these times … of the enlightened social values of society. We expect that we will see less … of the likes of Attila … or a Genghis … or a Hitler. For it appears that we have … sewn it like a quilt … into the fabric of life … and its worked out as a great cover. © 2016 Dayran |
