He Who Made The Lamb

He Who Made The Lamb

Leading and Following

Lord Richard Attenborough made the comment … attributed to Gandhi … that he was appalled … by the fact that a man … needed to dominate another … in order to satisfy his reason for existence. But the alternative … refers to a life of peace and self contentment … much like a monastic order … in total communion with the created natures. And yet we are informed that … we begin life seeking domination … but are obliged to lead it to … a civilization with perfect knowledge … and living in peace with everyone as equals. In Blake's poem of the tiger … he wonders about the creator … a man of peace … who created both the lamb and the tiger.

Its a reference to the natural order of nature … in which ideas compete for viability … and the random is the rule … rather than the exception. In a field of all possibilities … we must have taken to the test of determining … that which is the optimum condition for life … and its preservation … over the ages. Civilizations have come and gone … proposing their ideals of life … and sometimes becoming enmeshed within their own intrinsic … faults within the system. And the point we have arrived at … in these times … draws our attention to another … issue in the system.

Its like specialization of labor … where each part undertakes one part of the work needed … in order to preserve the viability of our survival … as a whole. It ought to work great … but we observe much in the way of … shoving and badgering … to enforce the idea … as the only true viable plan. If it is true … we could withdraw all preaching of the ideal … and let the community find out for themselves. In that way … serving one another … in a system … draws on a self volition … that is offered with understanding and affection.

There are obviously many different parts that make any system work … but at the extreme spectrum of both sides … is one who is perceived to lead … and on the opposite side … one who follows. No doubt … a real lead would work hard to ensure … they stay with the facts … and not personal fancy. At the same time … the follower is satisfied that the lead presents the best option for survival and is prepared … to offer their support for it. We have certainly been provided a great many opportunities … for its practice.

The theme of lead and follower … finds its application in our established political systems … its the basis of free enterprise … gender relations … father to son … Christian to pagan … have to the have-nots … East-West relations and so forth. It offers a viability plan … that is deeply personal … and the disagreements on the two sides … have spilled over from the mere thoughtful … to the aggressive breakdown of the other. One thing however appears to be certain … that which is true will obviously triumph.

I wonder if the Romans … in occupying large parts of Europe … considered that … or whether the colonial policies of Great Britain … made such a statement in the administration of their colonies around the world. The issue came to a point … in the recent world war … when Germany and Japan … cast aside all disguises … to raise the issue to the world's community … in a show of force of their capability. The Indic likes to say .. it takes self-realization of the issues … the Oriental … that water finds its own level … and the Americans … stand by the virtues of freedom and liberty … that ensures every individual's right to self determination.

We certainly have the opportunity … and the means … to make that determination in these times. Nothing compares with the individual realization … that creates its own self will … to follow a certain path … that they have been convinced of. Cuba's revolution … for the minds and hearts of the people … that was exported to the Latin American countries … found a sad end … in their encounter with the Americans. Their self determination … awaits an informed realization. We certainly don't need help from … the ' empire ' … especially when we believe that … we are the ones with the sole right to lead.

In engaging the opposite points of the spectrum … I came to a curious find regarding its qualities. At one end … is the light … first drawn from the stars … then the sun … then the color of race … that promises knowledge … based on the propensities of the physical nature of life. Its life is dedicated to knowledge … and believes that before there was creation … there was mind. Is such a quality simply born … or does man … have to apply himself to its achievement? It strives for the dictum … ' He who knows and knows he knows … he is wise.'

On the other end are the colors … that find in passions … the great joy of giving … that surpasses all else in life. It claims to the creation of the stars and the world … as a gift to man … its joy and bliss. It is the reproductive nature of life … and regenerates life from death … in a continuity until it reaches its goal. It is the body of the specie … in a form of perfection in man … as the quality that cares for another. It refers to all creation as itself.

Thus far … it appears that both these qualities of … the light and the colors … have been taking turns … playing tiger and the lamb. How long before we will know? No one knows. But the trials continue as they have done for ages … possibly until every last man … comes to share in the same truth … discovered by everybody. For is it not so … that one man with a gun … started our pre-occupations with … chaos theory? My intimations tell me … that the next two thousand years … might hold the answer.

Any relationship takes a full realization … on both sides to make it work. Its a realization … of heart and mind … bound by its visions and feelings … while contending with the ever changing nature of the world's landscape. We are living it … even as we examine its true possibility for sustaining life. A man would rather relate to someone who has come to their own clarity on the issues … rather than rely on praise … that has no basis in reality. And so we breed the tiger … to find out.
