A Lump in the ThroatA Story by DayranJesus at the mallIt happens when we are caught with something that is not entirely true. We find difficulty in swallowing our saliva … and it feels like it got caught in our throat. It must be something we cannot bring ourselves to accept … even in the face of the truth. Quite often the individual strikes out on a self defense that rides down what came to him as truth that contradicts him. All of us do that … but we ought to be aware that … it creates a contortion of the tissues … and creates an abnormal tissue growth … like a scar or what medical science calls cancer.
We hear of people who have fought a cancer experience … and emerged victorious … sending the contorted tissues into a regression … of its impulses … and the way it has its tentacles into every major energy center in the body. To my understanding … they succeeded because … they stopped fighting what they came to encounter … as new truths … and created an acceptance for it. It makes a person curious about the effect of mind on the body tissues … the way we seem able to generate new tissue … by ourselves. What does that mean … I wonder … in terms of the way the mind … engages the normal tissues in the body?
I probed into the properties of a cancer cell … and attempted to discern its purpose. I'll spare the reader the technical details … but … I came away … struck by the peculiar sensations … of an organism … that seemed to refer to itself … as the master of the realm. It was the inspiration for life … it built the domain of the world … the human body … and it all belongs in some way … to it. It was the ultimate sensation … of disorderliness and self possession ... seeking to apply a different creative zeal in the human body. So I'm asking myself … does a cancer actually take over the normal functioning of the mind?
I had visited my father … when he was in the hospital with throat cancer. This was a man … who exercised a strong control … over all of us kids … but my mom was always there … to moderate too strong a control. But at the hospital … I couldn't take a thought on my own. It was as if his condition … had taken control of my thoughts … and I was simply staring at him … and waiting for him to tell me how I should respond. It was that way until … we took the bus and left the hospital compound … before my mind stirred to its surroundings.
It makes a case for saying … that we ought to exercise some concern … about the place of the mind … with regards to body tissues. The Indics create this curious suggestion in their literature … about how the mind … at some point in its workings … relates to each cell as a star … or group of cells like a constellation … and actually relates to the universe … in that way … to create awareness of the events that's taking place in the life of the individual. By extension … we come to the notion that … man at this time … may be doing something with his tissue cells … in relation to the events of the world.
It makes for a curious … notion of relation between the individual and the world. It compares in a strange way to the experience of mystics … saints … and men of faith … in respect of their individual identity as man … to say perhaps … a man can be more. From a rational perspective … it makes us aware of what we are saying about the experience. In respect of our socialization natures … we are simply another man … a friend … a father … mother … and so forth. But we store our personal thoughts … about the nature of what we are … and sometimes … bring a word or two … to youth … about the lessons of life.
And as man … we need reminding … that we are not God … or the world and universe. Its an obligation we are bound to undertake … in order to keep clear … our expression of ourselves as the human individual only. Failing that … it thrust us into a labyrinth of thoughts … about our personality … that eventually becomes incoherent even to our own understanding. Such a commitment to the cause of man … is simply common sense … when we realize that everyone is potentially capable … of achieving something similar about themselves. It is not a privileged position entrusted to us.
Hence the key to the human experience … points at the rationalization of what we are … and the way in which we bring ourselves to express our experience … in the knowledge of man. The point is to preserve the stability of the experience … and we do that in relation to our identity as man. There are constant reports of someone who claims he's the Christ … Krishna … the Buddha and so forth. It is becoming common place. But what is less common … is our ability to moderate the experience … and place it in the context of life and the human condition.
The difficulty is enhanced … when we rely on the instruments of passion to help us manage. We seek recourse in the practices of social natures … that hold themselves steadfast to the principles of good social relations … of equality among all men. The principles of individual liberty … and rights … are of special importance to our organization and discourses … as a human community. We need to create a new appreciation for the ordinary … and the new norm with respect to our view of man. We need to re-educate our grandiose natures to appreciate the importance of that.
A will expressed … that mistakes our experience of body and mind today … and seeks to possess the entire world and creation … is doomed to failure. It should be turned inwards to serve the human needs … and his daily activities in life. The internet is filled with inquiries into the nature of cosmology … and the place of man … in these times. They all seek to rationalize their experiences … and move these wondrous experiences we encounter … into a new view of ourselves. Its a movement away from the passions … into mind … and it can take place without the usual denials … but with understanding.
