A New View of the Ego

A New View of the Ego

The many lives of the individual

"

I've come by some new information regarding the ego … that may alter the way we looked at it before. Simply put … it reveals itself as having two functions … one in the realm of the subtle senses … and the second in everyday application of the physical experience of the world. The new view raises many disturbing questions … about the way we have viewed … physical actions … especially in the way we attribute that to ourselves … or someone else.

In a normal course of events … a person engages in physical activity … and thereafter reflects upon it … to derive an understanding … or meaning … regarding what took place. That is the process of converting our physical experiences into abstract thought … and storing it for review. That thought is then brought into comparison with our … desired thoughts on the issue. Quite often we find … its in some way consistent … with that which we desire. The situation therefore … is experienced as … entirely normal … and maintains the course of events in our life.

However … on the occasion when we encounter … a total contradiction … in meaning … between the converted abstract thought … and our desired thought … we face a situation when all the wheels … grind to a halt … and we are unable to proceed with the normal … activities of our life. It materially changes the nature of reality … and we find that we are entirely uninformed about the nature of experience … that it represents. It is here … that a man begins his inquiry into … the nature of reality.

In a nervous breakdown … a person is reduced to his fetal stage … from where we commence … a manner of re-adapting ourselves to the environment. Quite often we move to a new place to do that … so as to avoid the … formerly familiar sensations. In the recovery from the fetal stage … the man undertakes a conscious relation to issues … coupled with social interaction … and the knowledge brought to him by research and science. However … while he is doing that … a second process takes place in him … by the actions of the subtle emotions … that relate to the environment. This is the great mystery of our lives … that engages the … forces of creation.

In the utter state of being lost and clueless … of a nervous breakdown … the subtle emotions … engages the mind … to first understand … the planet it is on … the qualities of the rocks … trees … sky … earth … ocean … and light. It seeks to define the domain … that the individual is on … and thereafter … it assists the individual … in the way … he engages his conscious will … to integrate back into society … in the identity of man. This is a very significant step … in the rehabilitation of the man … into the world environment.

My own review into my experiences … brought me back to the experience of the nervous collapse … and where I had blundered on before … this time … I had the opportunity to examine it with some calm attentiveness to issues. It made me wonder about the nature of life … and whether it had habitated other domains in the universe … before coming to earth. And in what form did it undertake its previous life … before the physical manifestation of man? Obviously one past life … was as that … of a variety of anima specie ... here on earth.

The indications pointed to possibilities … of habitation … in other planets … the way science today refers to such possibilities … and to the planets on the solar system. An examination of conditions … in the planets of the solar system … revealed possibilities of a mild mannered dog on Pluto … pixies on Uranus's moon Oberone … fish in Neptune … an administrator in Saturn … the ego in Jupiter … the male on Mars … a female on Venus … and the mind on Mercury. No doubt … my review borrowed heavily from the suggestions of our forefathers … on the legends.

I needed something closer to the world's experience ...and took a curiosity to the personality of the average American. Here was a community who weathered … fights with savage natives … the powerful British army … a civil war … two world wars … and the continuing pre-occupation … on the fight for survival. It does not provide an indication of people … recovering from a nervous collapse … but it does point to a deep struggle … to be clear about what a person is doing with their lives.

In doing so … the Americans bring to the world experience … a man … who is informed. Its a man who has physically met challenges … before creating a view of their nature in our lives. In doing so … they share with everybody else … the need to do so … and to review the world's experience … that has borrowed heavily … on the qualities … of the subtle ego … and its reliance on an attitude … that may relate to lives previously encountered before … we came to define man in his nature.

Of particular significance … is the way the conscious nature of our perceptions … compare with the desired thought of an individual … especially when we compare that with … conscious acts … that are first converted into abstract thought. It makes for a serious test of what reality is … and even as this causes … a riotous condition in some parts of the world … it raises the opportunity to examine … the two natures of the ego close up. Its no doubt a contributing factor … to breakdowns … all over the world.

Psychology at work. That's the way … I will label the experience … and the tremendous opportunity it has given me to grow and understand myself as an individual. I find it entirely accurate … as a world experience … and in entire accord with the intimations of our legends … which are incidentally founded on the subtle ego. Its the Yin and Yang of the Oriental … Beowulf of the Norse … and Mahabarata of the Indics. And it is the world … that the man … recovering himself from a fetal position … comes to affirm as life.

And in the play of its nature … I spot the unspoken impulse of the man … born into subtle natures … to exalt the powerful experience of conscious thought … and the man born into conscious thought … to yearn for the experience of the subtle … in his personality. No doubt we are effecting such a change … in our personalities … and would need to address our habits … in that regard. Certainly we could do with less … the chaos that arises from the trials and errors … that naturally arises. But it does tell us … that the chaos … will of themselves diminish … in time.
