The Stuff of Future DreamsA Story by DayranDream managementThe science of objectivity relies on … views we create … that is based on … the frequency of occurrence … or the majority opinion of people. In a survey to determine society's views on sexual equality … the results rely on the … highest number … of responses … to a particular view. And we take that as an affirmation of existing conditions … that may be engaged as a basis for decision making. The decision we make is viewed as an informed decision … and not the personal whim of a person or persons.
A King ruling a kingdom … may engage public referendums … a socialist administration may engage meetings at branch levels … a theocracy may engage the head of the village … to collect views. And this is still an informed decision making at the top. How does any of these … infringe on the ethics of objective governance? Is society's decision making influenced by an unusual attachment … to the head of administration? A fondness? An alliance based on ideas? Or a habituated view of life?
The issue receives a close attention in the Legend of King Arthur. The King rules with a personal involvement in the affairs of the kingdom … but consults his knights … to maintain a broad view of his administration's policies. In keeping with the times … it becomes reflective of nobility … courage … chivalry … and the manly arts. His sister … the Lady Morgana … loses her birth relation to her brother … on account of his position … and is lost for her right to life. She mounts a campaign … with her son … and a battle of wits and power takes place … between two people … who share a close progenic relation.
In the fall of Arthur .. we detect a certain bias … in the way … his court held its decision making … and is evidence of the power of the King's personality in the round table. However … in his sister's rise to power thereafter … she denies him that thought of personal and intrinsic nature of power … according to birthright. He is forced to step away from it … and he comes to see it as a bias under the cloak of benevolence. And he exercises himself … to distance himself from the seat of personal power.
In explaining the experience to his Queen … the Lady Genevieve … he says of his previous personality … ' My life was the stuff of future dreams ' … no doubt … referring to the way he reviewed his past … to rise again. The nature of such dreams concerns us today … as the agent of change … in our lives. Our literature ... continues to inculcate in us … an adoration to a saint … God … Swamy or Guru … wiccan … and then some more.
In the world council of countries … what we call the United Nations … we create partnerships … among countries … to ensure support with policies. America finds its support with member countries that it supports with aid … such as Africa and Latin America. The EU states … declare their own agenda on issues … Russia receives the help of its previous satellite states … China and its allies … and the Non-Aligned movement … makes for a separation of interests … that finds its union of purpose … in issues of common interests.
Each … no doubt … brings its views to their meetings … with the same concerns … for best governance of the world's community. And they no doubt … engage the same manner of review of their actions … by the beliefs they bear on the source of our origins. Such beliefs … come to us by the powers of nature itself … to mix with the qualities of the human … and to create the best convergence … of decisions … that preserves and advances the cause of mankind. In the diversity of the world's society … it has to figure that … each is a voice of conscience … guided by a higher thought … based on systems that rely on the same principles of … knowledge … awareness … information collection … and its not without some element of personality involvement in issues. Our ability to accept the aggregate nature of such an organization of the world's community … is important for our comfort … no matter from which part of the equation we originate.
Each creates an emphasis on some aspect of the human personality … and together at the table … from all around the world … they are certainly the best representation of mankind … that is possible. An individual … may detect his own bias and preferences … based on his location … but it should not sever any trust he has … in the system of the world … working for the entire scope of conditions … that contribute to the survival of every man. In that way … it is possible to view such a world council … as the personality of every man … some parts dormant and others active.
Where we view our concerns regarding objectivity … in world governance … we ought to keep in mind … the lessons of King Arthur … with regards to his sister … wife … daughter … or the entire community of women in the world … who act to moderate and balance … the nature of the personal in man. They are that soft touch … the advocate on pleasure … and their trust in their man … for their life and survival. Obviously they do not intend to go wrong with that.
King Arthur's return to Genevieve … illustrates that she knew it all along. Perhaps she saw it in her dreams … and battled the King for his attention to it … while he was still engaged in the excitability of statesmanship. The free press in most countries … take that a step further … and try to keep such dreams … under regulation. And there's no doubt that … the King saw his wife in his dreams … perhaps more so … in his reviews of his actions ... than when he was at the head of government. But she may appreciate knowing that she may have got to it too early.
