The Bishop's NoseA Story by DayranThe Play MakerIt seems strange that we should have named … the headgear the bishop wears … as resembling … the backside of a chicken … that sprouts its covert feathers. Personally I think it was meant to convey the notion of house. And quite a house it is … that accommodates a diversity of humanity under one roof. I wish to undertake an exercise here … to name the variety of humanity's conditions … in a tentative notion … of its qualities. And thereafter to suggest its relation … to each other.
In any description of a range of diverse personalities … the critical need would be to create an easy way … of referring to the sensation … via a cognizable expression of the passions. A quick reference … would be simply to … sense the difference in qualities … by the nose … in a rough estimation … that creates a just noticeable difference … between personalities. In time … it would hopefully … lend itself to the ease of speech in communication … and relation.
In an overview of the diversity of man … in the world … we engage the perception of the world celt ( world spirit ) … that guides us … in the role of ourselves as actor … who plays many roles. It is sourced in the qualities of the body's tissues … and is founded on the mild notion … that we each wear different hats … in respect of a diverse range of activities … we might undertake in the course of a week. Such an actor is the captain of the ship … the director of a play … or is potentially … the Father of humanity.
He brings a relation to each of the many personalities of man … in connection with the the heart … and its cognizable identity in society. But its not a fixed view of humanity. Our psychic experience of the phenomenon … relates to the heart … and breaks up any sensation of fixity … to a manner resembling … flowers on a tree … as if to say that everyone is an independent entity … exercising their own free will.
The exception to that … is the way the women engage an experience of oneness … like the contents of a bag … that accommodates anything that is of value in their lives. Such an experience of oneness … may engage a vision of such contents … that has a curious resemblance … to the feeling of omnipotence. But a mother in the home … may take exception to such a freewheeling view of life … and bring her family commitments … to narrow … that vision of the magic bag … to simply the experience of her home.
In application to life … we notice that we begin our youth with a discernment of the suggestion … and our role as the director of the play … or in the colloquial as … play maker. Like Macbeth … it may feel a little like drama … and passionate appeals … that express themselves … in relation to the physical environment. But we tell ourselves … we are not serious about that … and that we are only engaging it until we find something better.
And that something is normally … in the form of the spouse … that we marry and move to set up a home and family. In the wife … the man offers his reliance … for the continuation of the play … especially in relation to the reality experience of childbirth … that the wife engages. It becomes an important part of their lives … and introduces them to the community and society … of which they soon become a part of. From here … the family takes on a special emphasis in the life of the society … and is the basis of the way … we form a cognitive understanding of our roles.
For the youthful play maker … his propensity for cultivating forms of qualities … and the relation to personality … now comes under a special handling. In relation to the reality of home and society … it transforms into a … suggestion of the Pantheon of the Gods … such divine beings who have … each … in their time been responsible … for the role of play maker …. in the life of the world. The father … in his new role of director of the play … becomes at this time … the God of the most high … who relates to man's past on issues … and brings that to an attestation of events taking place today.
If it gets too unwieldy to manage … it may be due to notions of reality and illusion … that we understand as the basis of life … and bring that into a consistency … with the physical phenomenon … that we experience. In the mind of the individual … who views such a possibility … of the way life and society organizes itself … it may represent a curious mix of fact with fantasy. And he has to move to … affirm the physical … in both scientific and observed reports … and to match that with … the nature of the temporal … that transformed from the feel of illusion.
Its my impression … that at this time … the observer of the phenomenon … not director of the play … is the one trained in the role of … the humanities father. That's a man … who's in touch with his passions … and brings his mind to understand them … in a way … that creates a dismissal of the props … engaged by the general society … and substitutes for them … his own rationalized version of the events. He makes contact with someone … resembling the mother of progeny … a lady whose intimations … about the curiosity of life … places her in a position of not being able to dismiss … the suggestion of possibilities … that she encounters.
The Monty Python plays … with John Cleese and others … brought a wonderful grasp of the salient issues … inherent in such an unlikely expression of life in these times. But then I'm not sure if anyone in such a position … will swear to it. But as it gains credibility … in the life of the humanities father … and the progeny mother … it forms the basis … of a growing awareness and discernment of the organization of the world's society. We draw the threads from it … to weave a fabric of life … that's notionally self expressive … about the intimate chimes of life. © 2015 Dayran |
