The ConformistA Story by Dayran+-+ Drawn and ReadyThere's a view I came across about the way the Spaniards looked for gold in their exploration of the Aztec territories. And once smitten with the flame of the possibility, allowed nothing to stand in the way of their achievement. The California gold rush is another story of folks who uprooted all they had in search of that golden shine that reached into their dreams of illumination.
Its a common experience to find reports that its sourced from unmitigated greed and ambition. But I find in my insights, something of a far greater intensity than ambition. Its the loss of our self affirmation, the way we might have experienced that as sexuality, in relation to a lady who inspired such hoofing volition. Such inspiration is certainly worth its weight in gold and is today the aphrodisiac we seek for all ills.
The Empress Dowager in China is reported to have united a diverse group of people under one rule in a manner that relied on her beauty and inspiration to her people. She had offered to them by her communication skills a sense of sharing in her thoughts. That's a rare opportunity for any man and it combines with the frailty of the feminine charm to create a great companion for the man. It may have done even more than that. It may have convinced man of his secure place in a world that is more than what he knows.
In the practice of Buddhism, a person encounters the Oriental view of mind as ' a thousand petaled lotus,' high in what the Indics refer to as the Shahasrar. Its subscribed to as all, the summum bonum of all thought, and its discovery enables the individual to live his life with the guide by the flashes of vision that steers him through his every need. Its a product of the feminine mystic in the mind of man for the cultivation of his civil nature.
In the experience of human society and the growth of civilization, we have , in much the same way, relied on the candor of our inspiration, to lead the work horse of the world, in the cultivation of empires. We wonder today about the petals that inspired us in our conformity to its will, offering to it life and limb, in the pursuit of happiness. And that relationship comes into our view today in a balance of wills between man, the doer, and the source of the inspiration.
The experience thrusts us into the very vortex of life, in the determination of our continued participation of life's achievement. There are men who seek to possess its powerful stimulation as well as those who are humbled by the power of its subtle but mighty force. The rose is mightier than the sword, the pen the gun. We seek its source and the understanding of it as the chalice of life and we plead our case to be allowed to.
It allows for it. It creates a grant for our wishes but in dealing with someone who is novice to the arts of life, it prepares the ground for our training in the way that we would lead a blind man to light. For, even though we have lived in the life, basked in its glory, we yet know nothing of it. The lesson plan therefore calls for the introductory lecture to be on humility. Its a great start is what I would say, for the student in his encounter.
In humility we discard all that we think we have known before. And how else does a person begin a new class? In Zen, they create an illustration of pouring tea into a cup that is already full. How can you drink more tea that way is the inquiry that is put to the mind. The great Siva sat under a tree, denied all feelings which in psychological studies would be referred to as overcoming the conditioning of the mind. And here is where we meet the Conformist, the believer who has not met a person he didn't like and faced nothing he had to deny as false.
Where does the Conformist come from? That's a good question. There are probably many versions but I found the beginnings of language, its symbols, form and sound as an interesting place to start. Our language began with picture representation and was modified into alphabets. But every alphabet today is a semblance of its original picture. Its related to by the nature of our passions that first learnt through signs and omens. I ask the reader's patience in following me on the illustration below.
In Tamil cryptology the word above, pronounced as ' Amma ' or mother may be translated by its picture qualities to indicate its origin of meaning. The first alphabet, contains a tiny circle that is an eye, its then attached to a womb symbol of a half-circle below. Behind her is a vertical line and curve that is child. Its the beginning alphabet in the Tamil language. This is followed by two alphabets which are the same, depicting the vertical line as child and a new womb. That's expected to refer to two specie of being. The dot above depicts something inside, the way the sound is turned on itself. The other alphabet is outside.
The last alphabet is used to stretch a sound and is indicative of an expansion quality. It represents the threshold to life and the living and may be experienced as a light quality. Put together the individual reader may check their own impulses to the issue and relate that to his mother to determine the fair representation of the meaning of the word and experience in his life.
Its my suggestion that its the source of the Conformist. It originates from his deep passions, the stones of creation and its relation to symbols engaged in the life. The Conformist therefore tends to be dogmatic and founded on faith and experiences inquiries that are muffled. His greatest problem today is the physical distortion of such symbols by the conditions in urban life. His work in life would be to shelf past symbols and substitute them for the new in his environment. A second language is an ideal choice, to be raised to the level of symbolism of the former. In that he may well have two mothers.
Our views of the social environment are handled by Conformists in the public media to retain a continuity of public order. It raises a complaint by thinkers that society is backward. That's not true. The needs of society differ from that of the individual. He would do well to undertake his work in his individual time and thereafter return into accord with society. In the meantime, he experiences a gap in his life, in much the same way all individuals do in these times. Its the work and a true conformist will find his shahasrar of identity again, if he stays true to himself.
