The Atlantic

Its a little difficult to speak … of specific identities … in a discourse about … personalities and attitudes. I've been avoiding them … with scholarly decorum … for some very good reasons. However … in this article … I hope my readers would grant me … a one-time liberty to do so and to do it by naming names … places … and specific events … that has shaped our outlook today.

I do this … with my insight into matters … and I use the guide of human compassion and understanding. I hope to do so … in the finest tradition … we have established as a world society … and in keeping with the usual guidelines. It concerns the vexed issue … of human intelligence and how … we have come to apply that on the world's landscape. I refer specifically … to the actions undertaken … by the Brits … the South Americas … Spain and the Americans.

From a historical basis … its plain to see that … the South Americans … are the only ones … in the Meso-American position … who evolved a way of thought and life … that came to define … a significant part of the human experience of the world. From the days of the Olmec … in 1400 bc … they have shared in the growing culture of the world … and our experience as man. It was a period of development that was founded on self sacrifice.

Our realizations today … in the advancements we have created … indicates that self knowledge founded … entirely on self sacrifices … has an edge and a limitation … to the growing aspirations … of the world community. Christianity … commenced its practice on the same premise … and so did the Indics … by the advocacy of dharma principles. But beyond self sacrifice … we come to concern ourselves … with re-building man … in all the possible achievements … that might be possible.

Quetzalcoatl … the plumed serpent … is referred to with some adaptation … in Indic texts as Sesha … the serpent of the universe … who brought to man … the knowledge of creation. It provides for a profound insight … into the passions … and the creative energies … that first cultivated the mind. The extensions of the phenomenon … in Western experience … introduced the fine qualities of the feminine … in a world that was growing … with the male defined aspects of the Zeus / Siva family.

As partner … to the growing world's intelligence … the Mayans ' lent ' themselves … to the visions of the seers … the bards … and the authors … of the many legends that we rely on today … for an indication of the source … of what we are. They did so … with an understanding of our common heritage … and purpose … in our lives … and gave unstintingly … of their resources … for human development.

This is played out in a post Roman world … by the expansionary ambitions of Spain … that sought to find the new world … but instead encountered Moctezuma … of the Aztecs. The Spanish claimed to a height of world civilization then … and brought the territories of South America … to submit to their administration. But thereafter … Spain lost their position to Britain … in the war of the Spanish Armada … and Britain … a fledgling nation then … grew into a world empire.

The Atlantic ocean is by no means a pond … but the curious flow of tides and seasons … from the shores of Latin America … to Spain … Britain and then to the US … depict a flow … of the intricate mix and demeanor of passions … that eventually came to the US shores … as a personality of the people there. Effectively … it refers to the sampradaya of the Americans today … and is made up of 6 discernible qualities … that function as the one personality of the world spirit.

In the home … we experience the personalities of child … teen … mother … and then father. In much the same way … we see in this view … the personality of the American father … in the environment of his family … bringing about the suggestion of a way of life in the world … that is new … and promises to replace sacrifice … with growth … into the promises of the new world.

In the place of the passions … is a course of flow … that channels our lived experiences of the past … in line with the historical events. Today … human insight permits the individual … to discern the course of flow … and to trace its movements in time. It produces an outcome … that is much like our daily feelings … and helps us to transform that … from historical experience … to knowledge of man. We do that … by identifying … the personalities … in a complete circle of its experiences.

Beyond the North American experience … the impact of personality … returns to the South … in the bardo of Moctezuma's descendents … as if to affirm their … play of unmindful relations with the world. Its much like a lady … making her pastries … and achieving the satisfaction … of seeing it turn out … mouth-watering delicious. In a manner of speech … its a reflection of where … we came from … and where we are going to.

The world … in this past 50 years or so … has been coming to meet the American father … and is quite astounded … by his lack of sacrifice … that has been substituted by his will for what makes things work. In the transfer from emptiness … to gain … the world has not been without its excesses of dream and ambition. But it appears the father is also patient … and knows … what awaits us all … down the road.
