Strange and Unusual

In a time of major change … it helps to believe in myths … that has thus far been incredulous. To look back again … at something we have never taken seriously … helps … but it also opens a can of worms … that we must be prepared to deal with. Its a swim … and if we allowed that … then a host of other incredulous phenomenon … takes shape in our minds … and even if we are okay with pink elephants … there's still the unicorn … fairies … Bigfoot … Atlantis … and Lumeria.

However in coming back from the swim … we realize that we simply engaged a lot of different ways to describe something … we today … call with another word. For instance … our speculations about the giant Nephilim … may well be Bigfoot. The telepathic experience … as the unicorn … the workings of the prostate gland as fairies … our origin from the sea as Atlantis … and the female pre-occupation with the earthy sensations of progeny … as Lumeria.

In putting these together side by side … we need an understanding of the equanimity … of our purposes … past and present. To view our present lives as progress … away from the smoky chimneys of the industrial revolution … takes us away from … an identification … with its sense of the common good. Intrinsically man is not much different from his forefathers … but our conscious understanding of reality today … is at variance with the alchemist's fantasies … of the past.

I was treated recently to a unique perception by … the screen presentation ' Transcendence ' … and in reading between the scenes … I got a view of the profound impact of science … on the mind of man … in its infancy. We came to wonder at what science can do for humanity. Certainly every scientist … feels that possibility in himself … and lights the way for his … devotion to his profession.

However to do so … with the view that … we are today more than what we were before … in a dismissal of a large part … of what we used to be … destabilizes us in the pursuit of our noble goals. And the most fervent hopes … undertaken without … an integration with society's needs … but in the temples of isolating steeples … as the savior of mankind … is lost to relevance.

In these times of myth busting … these suggested references are not anything new … but it does return to us … a part of our unconscious … that we kept shut … on account of our inability … to deal with them. It enables us the full throttle … and helps to cultivate a new perspective on issues … while maintaining an incredulous sense of what all these means. Its a matter of discovering ourselves … beyond the social conditioning … of schooling … and the civilizing influences … of staying simply with what we know for real … and to do so … with an understanding of what our schooling … has been about.

The arts and science … of social development takes place in an atmosphere of freedom … and the right of each individual to pursue his ideal. Quite often … we need reminding of it. More than a right … freedom confers on each individual … the free volition … to undertake thought … decision … and choice … in a situation that involves mind and heart. There's no state or ' big brother ' who'll want to undertake that for society. You'll need a 24 hour army of supervisors … to do that … over extended periods.

That may be why we stopped … our own initiatives … for contributing to mankind's growth. Care-giver fatigue … and the sheer exhaustion … that arises from there … emptied our minds of motivation … and drove us to the steeples of isolation … to chew on what might have been. But to undertake our contributions … shoulder to shoulder … with the normal way of life … cultivates that volition for change … by the friendship … we engender.

NASA came up with several first … in inventions … and while the rest of its product range … are engaged for specialized applications … it did make available the technologies … for smoke detectors … cardiac pace makers … scratch resistant glass … portable vacuum cleaners and non-stick cookware … available for use by the general population. Thereafter in cooperation with other governments … its provided its capability for satellite launch and monitoring … and the International Space Station … to enable a greater participation in its ideas.

Our views of our discoveries and innovativeness … needs moderating from the monstrous notion that … ' this is what's going to save mankind.' We need to view it as a regular part of our social achievements and development. It starts with the man … and our relation to society and the world … in the daily life that we engage. Its working for the idea … whose time has come.

Nature understands the way our minds are growing … and brings us into an integration of society's needs … but it brushes up our civility first … and demonstrates by our example … the final product … as man. It raises the question … as to whether God made us in his image … and how he convinced us to buy that.
