A Horse's ArseA Story by DayranTake a new angle' I wonder if I might want a cup of coffee … about now?'
A pause.
' Hmmm … don't mind if I do.'
If I told you that … I intended … to represent the above remarks … as being … by the same person … I wonder how you would respond?
' Perfectly … normal … ' … that's a joke … its meant to be funny … haha!
' I see what you mean … ' that's concern … that the curios application of pathos … is a part of our individual lives.
' What do you say … Mon Cherie … more coffee?' … that's not a joke … its not even a curiosity. The way everyone is jumping out the windows … tells us its … the swamp thing.
Perhaps what is especially … telling … in that last remark … is that … the man has come to identify … with me … in the narrative … with the man in the coffee episode … has become the question itself … and may well be … the King of Baluchistan himself. Its an experience … that's hard to pin down … and without the insidious symptoms of socio-pathology … the individual experiences it as the inexplicable social endorsement of society.
Its the new swamp thing … in the world … and quite frankly … I think its saved the old world … from the excesses … of romance and self gratification. In Indic writings … its possible to trace the experience … to the concept of Brahm … the creator God practiced by the folks in the Indus civilization. It has never been handled well … in the history of the world … and is the cause of the split in the Indus civilization … and the migration to the Gangetic river basin … in Eastern India.
It was also the cause … depicted in the Mahabarata … and has been the reason for wars … in the global experience. In reviewing the condition in man … Indic seers questioned … the wisdom and validity … of the creation plan … and has been the cause … for the loss of faith … of many an Indic sadhu … in these times. Simply stated … its the reason Josef Stalin … believed in socialism. It works out great if it was the only form … of institutionalized political administration … in the world.
The appearance of ' fault ' in the experience is not a personal failure … experienced that way … by any one individual person. A person would have to say … its the ' fault ' of creation … a ' fault ' of the Gods. ' You want the truth? … ' you can't handle the truth!' … spoken with candor … in a screen presentation … in recent times … is the latest expression … we have encountered … since 4000 bc … on the issue. Its brought it into the open … and its made the issue of civil rights … a critical matter … in the times. The solution … however … lies in the individual realization of … what that comprises … as the ' I ' sense … or the ' self ' … of the man. And yes … we can come to understand that … in the peace … of our wills.
Its the reason … the farmer went and sold everything he had … why the saints took to the mountains in silent contemplation … why society practices taboos … and why when we are young … we always see that … as a ' weakness ' in grown-ups … and think we have the answer. And then … in growing up a little more … these kids … in every generation … step into the mud hole … of the most fundamental aspect of the creation experience … the principle that - ' opposites attract … equals reject.'
As a society … we've had many suggested solutions … brought to the experience … some very credible … but at the risk of invalidating … the creation experience … its all fallen into disuse very quickly. My own management of the issue is on the basis of attitude … held very close to my chest … and not shared with anybody ... not the wife … child … best friend … priest … or even heaven's judgement. It will follow me to the grave … and in a rebirth … will remain … my favorite horse's arse … until I get a handle on it.
Indo-Aryan reference … to the ' Narayana astra ' … or the ultimate weapon of mass destruction … creates some clues … for the social expression … of the experience. However … its reference to war methodology … has caused the world to turn a blind eye to it … and relegated the Aryan practices of self soldiering … or kshatriyanism … as a self defeating attitude in man. The ' Time Traveler ' may know where its at … but he's still figuring … his north from the south pole.
Our folk arts … have cultivated a response to the issue. They channel the need … for constantly grinding on something … to chewing betel leaves … cocoa … tobacco or gum. The smoking habit … is certainly a clear indication … of how we deal with that. Its the motor of our wills … it tends to the fire of life … and the unconscious immunology responses of the body … and if managed well … is a steadfast way of life. I suppose Brahm … must have figured it as such.
