The Kings of the SunA Story by DayranElectro-Magnetic CommunicationIt was a Hollywood movie in the 60s … and captured on screen … the attitudes of early civilization … regarding the world's reality. The Vasudeva … in the Mahabarata … refers to ' the solar race ' … as the ancestors of man … who set the doctrines … for the practice of … physical orientation … to life on earth. The issue is a curious one … and continues to arise in our affairs … as a case of ' lucid dreaming ' … versus … ' a millstone ' around the neck.
Xerxes I … in the Greco-Persian war … in 480 bc … punished a river for flooding … in the battle at Thermopylae … by giving it 100 lashes. Obviously … the perception was about the living nature … of the environment … that acts in relation to man's intent. Today … in international relations … we maintain a strict … science based perception of the experience … of physical reality … as an inanimate object … that is engaged with empirical standards.
The guide … that arises from a study of these developments … affirms physical reality … as a conscious experience … that may be verified by observation … of physical phenomenon. This takes after the scientific approach. Against this … is the practice of … ' internal reality ' … that works by intimations … from a collage of instruments … in the mind and body-mind of the individual. In practice in societies … a person encounters … a variable mix … of both qualities … in our daily living … and makes for some amusing episodes.
In the screen presentation … Excalibur … the wizard Merlin says with some regret … ' the voices of the woods and streams grow silent. The one God comes … .' Ironically … his protege … the Lady Morgana … responds with ' teach me the magic Merlin … .' It appears funny … in viewing the positions taken … by the man and the woman … in the experience of reality. The man … is leaving behind the contact with … the ' internal voices ' … and the woman who is always … the epitome of survival … with regards to physical experiences … finds the magic of ' internal voices ' irresistible as a source of power.
In Tom Sawyer … a kid growing up near the Mississippi … finds much to relate to his environment … and picks up considerable savvy … in life's lessons. And as the man he apparently grows into … Mark Twain … came to represent … the quintessential … country boy … in touch with the world … its values … and its experiences of norm. However he didn't provide any description of his experiences … as to whether he engaged … the ' voices of the woods and streams.' Today we remember fondly … his writings … as amusing anecdotes on life.
An Indic song … representing female speech says … ' If you were a woman … you will not hide yourself … moon '… indicating in her expression … the common association … with the heavenly bodies … in a feminine personality … and the mix this engages … with the powerful physical nature … of the woman … in childbirth and the arts. Such mixes of intimations in our personalities … are undertaken with some volition of the individual … and the balance in the mix … is experienced as a reflection of our reality.
The individual volition … is viewed as an expression of each individual in life … and is often attributed to the physical nature … of the sun … our sight … and the physical senses. Such a ' starsun ' personality … is expected to rule our experience of life … in effect … portraying man … in communication … with the electro-magnetic waves … of the universe. To this … man adds … subtracts … and contrives … to make of the experience … a fair one … in relation to the needs of himself and society. In undertaking this … we have some assurance … at the sub-conscious level … that we are … exercising our will on issues. However … the sub-conscious … as an incredible variety … comprising … 'starsun ' … the conscious … unconscious … the karma of creation's design … social imperatives … past lives … and current aspirations … becomes a tad difficult to say … if we are truly … undertaking our activities … volitionaly. And we take that as the key criteria … to understanding reality.
We observe however ... that human endeavors … to preserve individual rights … liberties … and the spiritual aspirations for self realization … reflect our understanding of our condition … and our efforts to make them more coherent. Its not uncommon to find … a naturally existing experience … of qualities in ourselves … that sometimes grows loud … as different personalities … that science labels as … multiple personality syndrome. However … when brought under control … reflects the experience of the world.
Our well being … as individuals reflects … the critical importance of freewill … in the individual experience. It is the basis of belief … and the reliance on thoughts … that are many pronged. Our choices … decision making … and the will … are significant instruments … in our experience of being. It defines the Freudian view … that the experience of reality … is determined by … being clear about what is illusion and what is real … to our individual view. And Freud suggested in his studies … that they may be interchangeable … in different societies … and over time.
Indic writings … suggest that beyond the obvious contortion … and transformation of human thought … life appears like a ' leela ' … or pastime. That is hardly surprising … considering the incredibly vast scope of thought and experience … engaged by man … in his self awareness. It conveys the adorable nature of children … at play … in a universe … they have come to see as themselves … and as home. It is the experience of diversity … within the experience of oneness … in a case of the twains … meeting in harmony … as the child and author of our lives. © 2014 Dayran |
