I'm Working on ItA Story by DayranWorking Hard vs Hard Work
Its not an excuse … it is a statement of intent. But does intent … equal the achievement … of something … in our physical environment? The experience of trust … when conveyed without reservation … cultivates a mind … that combines … the mere intent … with genuine natures. Its what we avoid in the speech of people … detecting as we do … a trace of the bravado … not consistent with … the possibilities for achievement. Thoughts as achievement? … surely that's the way we create the motivation for man to think … but not … in itself an achievement.
The fact is … that's the biggest … most popular excuse … people give in their lives. It creates assurances … comfort for the will … promises of love … and hints of faith. But in a lifetime … it is itself a form of personality … great companion … friend … and quite often the life of the party. But when we go home and dress for bed … do we get the uneasy notion … that its all so … so … empty?
Does that about sum up what we feel in these times? I first saw a bunch of kids … friends apparently … sitting around the cafe table … and communicating alone on their touch screens … a few years ago. It caused me a sudden sinking … that went all the way to my crotch. And no … I don't think I walk around in my environment … figuring where I'm going to stick my prick in … next … either. What I think I felt … is not just about me … it is a real concern … about where society is going these days.
There's no doubt … that there's considerable concern … about individual inspiration for growth. But I think … we ought to complete the experience … and bring that into a courteous and social bearing in the experience … of our individuality. Indic swamis do that all the time … work on their individuality … leave it around half baked …. and then rush off to the mall of temples … for the obvious attention they receive.
That packs it in … and we rely on an assurance that we know … and load it up … on top … with our perceived accomplishments. And then … something isn't quite right … but we have to throw off the top load … before going back in … to finish the job … on our individual natures. And that's a problem … isn't it?
Mark Twain's comment about children … from manicured environments … and those from the neighborhoods of fish filled swamps … reminds us where personal initiatives … are richest in origin. A recent statistic … showed about one third of the working population … in the US … returning to smaller towns … to start over. And that is certainly … a growing indication … of the awareness in these areas.
When is the work on cultivating the individuality complete? A gold watch? … a Nobel prize? … the country estate? … is there a measure? Or is it the impulse … to finally clean out the barn … and dump all the rusting tools of work? Perhaps it might simply be a garage sale … out with the old and in with the new. Whatever it is … a man needs to make an informed decision … about when to stop … and to begin the all important task … of bringing the new into social relevance and relation.
In Tunisia … they still use donkey carts to carry goods. But in America … a man walking into a Tunisian restaurant … for the first time … is moving to a new experience of taste … without it being an endorsement of the quality of life in Tunisia. Do we fear … being viewed … as supporting … the wrong causes? Is it a failure on our part … regarding our responsibilities … to make life better … in other places?
Evolution … has been brought into textbook accuracy by science … these days … and I'm certainly not one to argue … with the illuminating efforts … of the scientific community. But what does that mean to the average householder … concerned with mortgages … and making sure they are bringing up the kids right? Can science do more? Bring into clarity … the view of the layman … why evolution feels … like a pair of eyes … in our conscience … persuading us to … manage our conscious senses daily … and to stop making of it a … of conscience of self deification … or a tower of ' done that.'
Like a loose thread on a dress … we worry that … pulling on it … would unravel our cover … and expose the weak. Here's where the good book … comes to give us some advice … belated sometimes … but useful. It asks ' wouldn't you rather do it yourself? ' In your own privacy? Preserve the adoration of the society … that has grown into your breeches … but don't get … fooled into thinking … that's all there is to it.
A revered American baseball star … recently… extended his skills … to entrepreneurship … in video games … in what was billed as saving the economy … of Rhode Island … in the US. The political administration of the state got involved … and after millions of dollars … in outlays … the project failed. It didn't help the state … in fact it pushed them deeper into debt ...and the player … turned into another remarkable marker … for things that don't work. It is useful … to create a volition … plan it … and know that we are working on it.
