The Edge of Transparency

The Edge of Transparency

A Poem by Dayran
"

Bare Knuckles

"

The hand of providence moves

With watchful eyes … its gains,

Born of creation's love impulses

It reveals no strive or strain.

Beautiful Imelda … her maiden

Brings her soft touch to the breeze,

Makes plants grow … anima feed

And moves the hearts of steeds.

Lovely to watch as she works

Curves and labors … unperturbed,

Hums softly to comfort the fears

Of man … child and prodigy birthed.

To her man she plays a tune inviting

Of his virility … bulging free,

How he damns them all … with liberty

His will unhidden for all to see.

Good men … of the Imelda stone

With none to suggest a critique,

Do you suspect on your own?

On your own … the oats of the groin.

Nature suggests a life a little hidden

But makes man an object emboldened,

Transparency shreds the curtains hallowed

Revealing longings and scripted mellow.

Have you stopped inquiring? Stirring?

Beyond the veils exposed?

Does the light shine too brightly … bold?

Lion of God … vain to behold?

Like slaves to free gifts bountiful

Do you live a debt in shame?

Striving to erase a memory broken

Of love's guide in dreams contain.

Love roams free and wild sometimes

But responds to reworking its cues,

Living in a gilded cage in heaven

The light dies next to loving true.

Such meaningful expression is evoked in every word. There's so many emotions and lessons to be had from this. The way you directed each line in a different direction was phenominal. Thank you for sharing.

There are layers of meaning in this and every time I read back through it I'm taken in another direction. On one layer Imelda sounds like a powerful Demi goddess who has mortal man at her mercy and torments them, playing on their weaknesses and longings. On another layer or interweave there is a message of hidden power, based on modesty learnt at an early age, which can only transpire as elegance.

Its a tempestuous life ... and I'm not sure if we would have had it any other way.

Wow, I'm blown away by this piece, it's so well-crafted and eloquently penned...this definitely took me to another place, another world even...I like how you gradually widen the lens from a story of two people to a greater philosophical assessment of their place (and ours) within the grand scheme of things...awesome work, well done.

I think i have read this piece 30 times. And my simpleton mind is left wanting to know who is Imelda? I think it is Imelda Marcos... and that is the way i read its. Resting on the laurels of those who have come before us.
