Chap 18 The Naked TrustA Chapter by DayranA Case of Self SurrenderI find that photos like the ones … taken by Stephen Funick … illustrate a concept … that is a part of our sub-conscious experiences … but has yet to be clear to our conscious. All those … who figure they have felt God's infinite love … experience a sensation … not unlike the feeling we get when viewing Funick's photos. It demonstrates a trust that is unreserved … and we do it with our bodies … and more … with our lives.
To return to our experience of it … very early in our lives … is given to a few … on account of the severity of knowledge and understanding it requires. Hence in the practice of institutionalized faith … this part of the experience is hidden. Thereafter the believer is exhorted to believe … despite the fact that he cannot see what it is … nor make any rational contact with it.
Faith therefore has always been there … as a part of our daily activity … but religion has been hard pressed … to make that issue clear on account of the full exposure of a person's mind … body … and sexual nature … that it takes to rediscover its hidden nature. Hence the wicca who practiced their faith … with full group participation on the issues … never doubted the basis of faith. But in undergoing a refinement on the way to institutionalized faith … it met the censor of orderly decorum.
In Rome … Dionysus … attempted to rediscover the nature of the hidden … by introducing orgies … in his practices. Thereafter Zeus … in witnessing effectiveness of its outcome … is reported to have welcomed Dionysus into the Pantheon. The change in the nature of the hidden is undertaken to reassure society of its presence. The point is referred to by the Vasudeva in his writings.
Vasudeva reported to his student … on the ever existing nature of the truth … ' the truth always is ' … he said … indicating that it is existing in some form in all … always. This he reported as the promise of the ancients who guided man in his early practices. However in times of change … it is possible for the hidden nature to reveal itself … and perhaps take new forms in the way it relates to us. Hence when the Vasudeva's son disagreed with his father's new form of the truth … the Vasudeva saw the need for his son to advance his learning … and accordingly advised the son to take to the enemy position in the war.
This brings a high risk to the affairs of men … at the moments when such changes occur. We see the possibility for the existence of many truths … and we are obliged to undertake studies that would unite them all under one banner. We have … in recent times … witnessed events … in which such perception of different truths … has caused horrific wars of annihilation … as to revive the age-old causes of ' an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.'
The issue of infinite love is experienced in this author's account … as being closely related to self love. It is viewed in the dictum … ' what is good for one is good for all and what is good for all is good for one.' This brings to a confinement and limitation … the practice of infinite love … in the affairs of man at this time and place. Personally I have drawn a line in my own experiences … in accordance with our common social decorum … public civility ... and the laws of the society. And here it'll stay till we come to future possibilities of advancement.
I am viewing my position as stable and comfortable … to the responsibilities I am engaged … in raising a family … relating to my social group … and the society of the world. I couldn't have wished for more at this time. No doubt the contact with the absolute nature of the truth is different for different people … but it is not impossible to see … how they unite under one cause as the world. © 2013 Dayran |
