Chap 15 The Seminar PresenterA Chapter by DayranLoud Mouthed BabesWe have all attended seminars … where the presenter … displays a theme on issues … a popular one being ' Paradigm Shifts ' … and helps the audience make contact with their feelings and understanding. A popular program in recent times was Stephen Covey's ' 7 habits of Successful People ' … that didn't so much as present any new material on issues … but provided a new way at looking at something … organization of thought … and ways of speaking of it.
Our interest in this area … concerns the presenter himself … as speaker and communicator … of the issues. No doubt the organization … of the many issues … their relation … the form of each idea … and the way it may be presented in an open audience … are a matter of interest. It refers to have one man … may have accomplished … such an organization … of the many matters … some of them contradictory … that faces us today.
I'm reminded of my own startling discovery … of my experiences in the learning process … when my ' colleagues ' … in an internal friendship … pronounced to me quite unexpectedly … that they thought I was relating to matters in my mind … with some personal knowledge of the world. ' In this life … at least … we saw all these … come from you … like a beam of light … from your jiva.'
That explained to me how I grew up with the friendship of my ' colleagues ' … many of whom presented themselves as … a father relating to mind … a mother in relation to heart … as westerners in relation to fun and sexuality … and then the easterners as regards knowledge and speech. My best friend at that time … from the Oriental persuasion … was a ' speak-your-mind ' kind of fella … who'll speak at the top of his voice … and make everything seem right … by the curious force … of speech. It gladdened me … to think that such representation of speech … by a person was possible … despite the fact that … we still have so much to learn.
At that point … I had made contact with a part of my … 4th cakra I call the Queen. She was a little particular about ' loud-mouthed babes ' … as she called … and forbade me to take any of it seriously … urging me instead to cultivate my own view and understanding. She was to me … something of a mother … and I thought then … that her manner … implied something between her and my father … regarding the issues.
For what seemed like a long time … I developed an attitude regarding … loud people … that was founded on my own curious interest to learn … and to evolve my own style. In the career that I went to as lecturer … teaching marketing … I realized I was in the home of the loud babe … and possibly even taking a bath in their pool. Perhaps there was no great wisdom in their ' snake oil ' balms … but they represented to me the nature of the general society … in the world. To create an avoidance of … loud … would have been a life of isolation.
There's a principle about society today that points to the very physical nature of experiences … the need to exercise one's rights … and to defend such rights … in the face of the over-populated urban intensities. And there was something else … about the way we each take responsibility for our actions … and in a trial by actions performed … we learn about issues very intense … in our minds.
In retrospect … I realize that my ' colleagues ' … had been engaging me … in this life … as a way of learning about themselves and their emergence into the manifestation of life. The Indic views that as ' former lives ' or the varieties of birth we take … to refine our knowledge of our selves. My colleagues may have seen the light of life emanate from my being in this life ... but that's just my life isn't it? ... not creation itself! I figure that if it means … I have added a little to everyone's knowledge … I've done my part. Its as much what any of my colleagues around the circle have done.
