Kryptonite Alert

The Odds & Bits Series : IX

In the contemplative arts … the individual experiences a peculiar difficulty … in being bogged down … on issues. This is due to the passionate obstinacy … of our tissues and skin. To overcome its effects … the individual may use a brush in the bath … to give a scrub to the skin … including the scalp. But other aspects of the practice … are far more exhausting … in the search for solutions.

 

One in particular … involves the engagement of the alter ego. In a perfect world … it should be possible for the individual … to engage his body double … or alter ego … in the refinement of his self understanding. However the ancients … may have practiced a reflective physical engagement … with another individual of the same sex. In exposing oneself … to another of the same sex … even for the mere touch … and activation of the reflective experience … the individual would draw on the bile in the body. Would scrubbing help? I don't know.

 

In creating the semblance of self-sufficiency … the individual is cultivating … the bodily sensation of phallus and orifice … where that orifice in the male … may be at a spot … where the sun don't shine. The individual realizes that he is relating … to another experience … at another place … in which there was little discernment … about the objects of sexual pursuits. In that he understands … the mystical … and playful nature … of the original mind.

 

Superman … in the comics … or in the contemplation of Nietzsche … would experience something similar … in the nature of the difficulties associated with reflective thought. Our bilious nature is perceived to be in response … to a quiet rage in our bodies … we don't yet understand. The effect of the bilious condition … in the long term … is expected to create a tanned hue to the complexion. Did we fall from a perfect being … entirely self sufficient? Are we hereafter … coming to understand it better … and in doing so … to enable our return?

 

The world's societies are only now … waking up to the suggestion … inherent in our natures … of our experience of oneness. As we perceive the experience … and the human condition of duality of the sexes … we must wonder at the apparent contradiction … in the creative impulses. There's considerable literature on the subject … much of which … perceives the situation … not as a problem … but as the need for mankind … to affirm his being … and join with nature … in the continuity of the creation experience.

 

Between 1,000 to 1 BC … the world saw the setting up of many schools of thought … that attempted to resolve the issue of monotheism and duality. Each came to define high ideals … in the pursuit of these studies … but none that resolved the human desire … for self sufficiency in thought and physical existence. That would be the work of nature … in the development of new bodies … in the times ahead.

 

And perhaps it is right … that nature takes its time to do that. The suggested experience of oneness … of taking responsibility for the self … in the frame of an entire creative effort … is a formidable task. It takes a Herakles … or a Vasudeva to do so. Such guides are perceived to be in us … from our past. We continue to refine … and improve upon … their techniques. But the issues are enormous … and bigger than life … and then there's that … kryptonite alert.
