The Communication Channel

The Odds & Bits Series : V

Its wonderful to see TV channels … dedicated to subjects … like the History Channel … for instance. It creates the place … to view and understand history … and will no doubt … form the basis … for reliance … on all things history. In much the same way … as a society … we have introduced … talk shows on TV and radio … that forms a basis … for a view of issues … in our lives.

 

I wonder if that could be improved though. We find human discussion and exchange of views … most active … at the sub-conscious level. If that's the case … the sub-conscious is merely … a medium … for the communication between the conscious and unconscious. It relates to the stimulation from the unconscious … from the dreams and imagination … and thereafter … brings that … to match the reality … of the conscious physical environment.

 

The conscious is active during our waking hours … and the unconscious … during sleep. This is the standard definition … of the experience by science. However in studies of lucid dreaming … scientist have suggested … the curious discovery … that its possible … for a part of the world population … to have an active unconscious and an inactive conscious … that is perhaps active … only in sleep. Our awareness on this … may just be developing … as we come to encounter … the phenomenon.

 

I remember as a child … the Indic society's view … that the West ' lives in a dream.' As a matter -of-fact … there are indirect references to a ' Rati's dream ' or ' Beauty's dream ' in Indic texts. Elsewhere the tales of sleeping beauty … and the American pursuit of the dream … are such messages … that combine with the unconscious … to make it appear true. Its caused some awful complications … in the Eastern view of the West … over the years … some of which … is only starting to be unraveled today.

 

In meditative exercises … the individual begins to observe … an experience of the multi-dimensional … in the mind. In viewing it … he realizes that … the experience is essentially of the world … as if to say … that the mind … in its non-interfered working … is reflective of the world. In that … the individual observes a communication … taking place … between two active natures. It becomes apparent after a while … that the conversation … is between the conscious and the unconscious.

 

In my own experience … in finding such a phenomenon … I positioned myself fully in the sub-conscious … and found a way to communicate … with the two sides. There is a pre-requisite for this. The individual must undergo … a period of training … to fully understand the natures of both … the conscious and the unconscious. It is a virtual understanding … of the work  … of the creative forces.

 

Eventually … I found myself … bringing a greater sense of belief to this … and for the last 8 years … have been so engaged in such an undertaking. Expressing the experience … has been very useful … and my writings … over the last 2+ years … in WC … and elsewhere ... has provided me the opportunity … to reflect … on what I am doing. It has brought me to a transparency on issues … and I find that I'm growing more coherent … in the way I express myself.

 

Lucid dreaming continues to be researched upon by scientist. Indications are that … there is currently an intensification of the efforts at it. It would be news to many people. I would love to find out … how science … will bring that into communication … with the ordinary man. On the other hand ... there's always the communication channel.
