Getting Along with MotherA Story by DayranThe Quick Study Series : IVTo the child … the mother is the nature of things … perhaps nature itself. She defines the norm and provides meaning to gestures, words and actions. She is the friend … the protector … and quite often … the world. The mother cult is one of the oldest traditions in the world … and it combines as many mysteries as it reveals about itself … and the nature of the human condition.
In the temple at Delphi … the women would put their ears close to the ground and arise to make the greatest predictions. In Indic legends … they refer to her ability to hear musical tunes and notes … and thereafter to translate that into the words that expresses her contact with her physical environment.
As her child grows … he is making contact with the environment … in the home … and neighborhood … and curiously … the way mother goes on about the grocer … the butcher … the neighbors … the father … the child's siblings … and the home … it creates the ambiance of the environment … that the child responds to.
In defining the environment … she also points to herself in it … and creates the suggestions for living … through the many activities … that she guides him through. In school … the child begins to meet other children … and sees himself … as the representation of his mother … and discerns his friends … as being representative of theirs.
In the encounter … he meets at least two other mothers. While his mother is the grand Queen of his home … and his very own possession … the other two represent … his growing needs away from the family. There's the mum … possibly his best friend's mother … who is representative of friendship … and the selfless nature … of social relations. Another mum … is possibly a school teacher … whose enthusiasm in teaching … inspires the child's … love for books and knowledge.
Effectively his mother is all of these … something he used to experience … in his childhood … however the specialization of roles … in society … creates a gulf between him and her … and redefines the nature of his personality as a male human. It explains the irascible nature of relations between mother and son … even as he goes on to become father in his own home. The separation says a great deal about the nature of public volition.
It is only on entering society … that the individual is brought to a separation with the mother ideal. However … at the end of a career … the individual returns into accord with it. In doing so … he realizes that she did need an up-date in this life … not to her perceptions of the creative forces … and nature … or the world … but to her understanding of the human condition … of the way man is growing and coming to a true understanding of himself.
She views that today … with the incredible suggestions … that man is now able to intuit the nature of the Gods … that he is a partner in the creation process … or that the creative energies rely on the conscious will of man … to guide parts of its future development. Her role … as the one who converts … simple stem cells … into the properties of the embryo … remains unchanged … for the foreseeable future. But … she is watchful … for the creative energies are constantly improving … on the ways and means of life.
