The Tatie of Nymphs : Prologue

I grew up on Native American legends that extolled the bravery of the lone warrior against several or tens of enemies. In the most mystifying way it created the greatest appeal on my person … and in my working life I strove to be the one that pioneered a certain study or achievement that had never been undertaken before. It drew on the raw power of the nymphs.

Our legends are filled with stories of women who loved their man to the point of cultivating themselves as his inspiration for achievement. As a muse she brings some guide on the reasons for an action and persuades the man to apply his physical nature to the task … but as nymph they serve themselves up in the raw and encourage the man to create his own understanding and action.

The man who resents being told what to do … in the many ways that women bring themselves to the task … is often left to be his own guide. That of course is bound to get complicated … its like a physician trying to perform surgery on himself. On account of that … we have in the course of our civilization experience cultivated a sharing of responsibility for the double-specialization of functions. I think its been working great.

However there is one who has been over the top and seen the promised land … it breaks the convention on social engagements … and he strives to be only the only one ever to succeed where everybody else has failed. It is possible of course … and the achievement comes to be experienced in a special place … in a matter of fair-play.

It is not unusual to find that … more than honor, a heroic death or victory … the man who is favored by destiny or the evolution of our natures … is the man perceived as a sport .. for the creative energies love the sport of life … and the nymphs … as the fundamental and subtle aspect of life's impulses endear themselves to all things in the play of creation.

In the frame of such a scheme of perception … we find that all men are good sport … it is the foundation of a life that relies on activity … even if its a matter of encountering the man we would love to hate … because he went past the wall we had thought him too vain to cross. It is possible that man is evolving … and perhaps may test the limits we had come to know before …  extreme! ... that is promising isn't it?
