An Abstract PersonalityA Story by DayranThe Human Bond Series : VFrom the oldest practices known to man we see how the societies in the East and the West came to deal with individual acts of glory and aggrandizement. For the sake of social cohesiveness and harmony society has always acted against the lone achiever who has not learnt to play as a team. It instituted a scheme to draw on the ideas without the complication of personal involvement.
In the East they refer to the term ' exile ' where the individual is sent away from the group and is forced to live and survive alone by himself. This theme was worked into the legend of the Ramayana where a young prince was too full of the milk of human nobility but lacked the savy for social organization.
In the West they refer to the term ' crucification ' of the young man who is too full of the glories of God and denies the imperatives of human society. I figure that the death experience indicated is due to ex-communication and the fact that the individual has no other identity other than the social one. This theme is observed in the experience of the Christ.
We encounter these experiences in the pathos of the abstract passions … and find ourselves sometimes subject to the greatest queries regarding justice, God and man here. Curiously we don't even know what the situation is about sometimes … as a result we relegate these to the ' boogeyman and his associates ' and practice a strategic dismissal or suppression of the issues.
It is possible to examine these in a greater light and certainly there are many who have … the writings of Thomas Mallory and Saivite literature lend credence to it. When we are able to do so we find something quite extraordinary … the nature of the individual in the West who is crucified is human … and the nature of the individual sent into exile in the East is ' the new specie after man.'
This would mean that social organization in the West is undertaken by ' the new specie after man ' and in the East its ' human.' King Rama would not have fit into any measure of the qualities of humanity … he was of royal birth … he certainly was not the average man in society working for a living. The Christ on the other hand was the son of a carpenter … and strove to identify with the average man.
In making contact with the probable nature of these in our lives … on the street where we live … I figure it might just be possible to understand the convoluted nature of the abstracted passions in us and to commence some healing. Its a start … and it introduces us to the individual nature in the abstract … the regulator … the one denied … with and without form … the once and future King. © 2013 Dayran |
