The Sleight of WillA Story by DayranThe Autumnal Legends Series : III & IVThe Self Will of Individuals
The winds of the fall bring strange shadows to the mind of man. Stories of changelings, trolls, vampires and witches occupy the minds of the innocent who wonders at the strange and curious natures. Visions of bonfires in the shady woods and the dance of naked bodies in its warmth stirs many things in the individual.
The growing chill in the air creates an isolation of the individual from his social circle and he is perchance given to his figurings alone amidst the fading leaves. The effect is discernible … the way food flavors are enhanced … the way right and wrong stands out clearly … and the passing clarity in the way we view the all encompassing natures of our individual self.
The moon brings a strange light to the backyard as if to remind us of another day in another life … another place and time. Is that possible? … am I to suspect my rational nature! … I'm entitled to my beliefs ... It is here that the great human endeavor comes to a nemesis of itself. It realizes that the bright day of summer is a privilege to its experience of reality by the nature of the physical relation it provides us.
Our experience of reality is in close association to the nature of the physical world. In a war, tsunami, earthquake or volcanic eruption it may be taken away from us … just like that! ... And so the moods of autumn … until we readjust in the winter … to a subtle transformation of the physical … we suspect we have woken to another world.
Such conditions in the experience of the man in the course of a year over a period of his lifetime makes for a curious psyche of sorts. It applies itself to a variety in his outlook and will not be confined to a single view or experience. It promotes the practice of socialization and may be at the heart of the great social activity of the world.
The experience brings to our minds the application of the individual will. Like migratory birds and animals or tribal communities that re-locate during winter, the individual sometimes finds himself 'elsewhere ' in the mind and heart. To take a closer view of such an experience may indeed be helpful for an understanding of the self … the many faces of reality … and to do so with an observation and record that brings some attention to the experience.
It is the great labor of the self to reach out to all in its experience and create some awareness. It prevents fractionalization of the personality in ways that cause difficulties. When spring re-emerges that young buck from the subtle regions is going to be whooping it up all over the place … we need to keep up. Self Will & Beyond
In the great quest for civilization humanity comes face to face with the primal nature of the individual. In the organization of societies we lay down rules and laws to guide the common behavior of man. Such regulations bring themselves to satisfy our overall needs but may in respect of individual qualities cause a denial or suppression of actions.
Of all the issues the individual faces with respect to social order and decorum is the very critical matter of fertility, childbirth and the continuity of life. Such issues reveal themselves in the new birth and generation of the young in every society.
The continuation of the specie experience, its advancement, the growth of mind and the optimization of its survival possibilities is founded on the development of the DNA. This specialization takes place largely outside man's ability to know and has been relegated to the mysterious experience of the soul.
We may come to combine logic and intuition to view the activities of the soul in the past histories of human development. From the Australopithecus it moved on to the development of the homo sapiens. The development continued in many ways. In the past human development relied on moral behavior and it was possible to record such an influence by the nature of ethics and civil organization. It culminated in the American system as liberty and individual rights.
Our current concerns center around the way tech advances the cause of social organization. It does this through tech products … computers, satellites, cell phones, gaming, appliances, transportation etc. Each of these applications provides a guide on product usage, operational procedures and a social networking that creates a greater standardization in outlook than anything social organization has undertaken before. It refines further the experience of individualization.
To the individual this is a very strong challenge on their individual natures, identity, personality and relation to society. They need a new way to think and organize their thoughts and to view certain matters as the intrinsic privacy of the individual. We are at this time examining such possibilities and allowing for an experimentation of such practices in society.
Perhaps the most critical aspect of the transformation is in the understanding of what constitutes true individualism. Those who are unable to bring a conscious mind and body to the considerations, substitute for their experiences such notions of contradictions and ironies that are without basis. It causes a flat out denial of reality by the individual in isolation.
We need to keep in mind that every individual achievement in the past … that which society holds up for praise and exaltation … was undertaken by an integration of the individual with society. It doesn't stand alone in the isolated idolatry of its dreams. It shares in the light of intelligence through participating and revealing their own minds.
The collective will for change does bring help for every individual … it reaches out to them by the calamitous schemes of obsessions … a person needs to intimate that … even in their doubts or from the benefit of it. © 2013 Dayran |
