Two MothersA Story by DayranBelieve It or Find Out Yourself Series : IIThe two oceans of the world must at some point bring their waters to meet each other. It would be a curious meeting place … the stuff that conspired to create sailor's tales of mermaids/men, ghost ships, giant sea monsters, the Sargasso sea of giant weeds and kelp and other such phenomenon. In brushing aside the obvious fancies of the imagination we are still drawn to the content of that impulse in us. It tells an even more curious tale.
The term ocean waves may today refer as much to the sea of humanity that spans the globe. They create peculiar currents that wash over societies and come to meet us at our door.
Our fashion has been to identify these influences as the environment, public volition, involuntary and responded to in a peripheral manner by the anaerobic processes of life in us. It takes place subtly … what psychology likes to refer to as unconscious.
In the meantime we continue our absorption in our self volitional, voluntary activities driven by the will of the aerobic process. It is physical and forms the daily activity we describe as conscious.
An individual in viewing his life at home and at work may be consumed by both these processes and in the mind of the trained professional this represents the knowledge, understanding and the emerging trends of social behavior and public life. In doing so he may have an unusual ally as yet unknown.
The legends referred to the mothers of the world as swans. Two of these have come to occupy our attention today as being surreptitious in the way we meet and respond to the world's seasons of tides. Like an Athena and a Medusa they occupy a place in the involuntary part of our activity and from such depths they become the will of the anaerobic processes.
The Indic texts referred to them as Dwaraka or two pillars. The men in turn respond in a voluntary and reason based manner to their influences. As we come to greater light on these issues we may put behind the suspicious demeanor of the Sargasso sea that traps and drowns unwary sailors. Certainly an improvement … Believe it or find out yourself.
