Love's Defences

Love's Defences

A thinking man who is in love is no fool. He knows that he is likely to draw upon the greatest acrimony and dissent regarding his views. After all man prides on his objective sense and presents himself as truthful and beyond the grasp of simple bias. Our social natures are obliged to present an inordinate separation from the purely passionate.

There's a tremendous difference between someone who feels the love and someone who knows love. In a final analysis the one who knows will be prepared to give up his life to it. The one who feels will complain that it isn't like before.

Historically, in the annals of human civilization we see many who know, undertake all manner of sacrifices, giving in, settling with less and finding other ways for their satisfaction of the love impulse. The Indic tradition practices such a return to the knowing. However it has to-date failed the acid test on issues. A new standard may be needed.

In a world in which it is obviously clear to everyone that we need love to survive without muddying our equal reliance on facts, it brings into everyone's defenses a play on the issues. Passion versus reason … passion in the service of reason … reason in an understanding about passions … a service that is not to be viewed as one's reality … a play that should not be mistaken for facts.

What that brings to us is an accentuation on our learning abilities. It used to be a forgiving nature but we appear to have outgrown that. In learning we simply start with a propensity for the possibilities. In bringing the mind to know we encounter the inevitable stage of world drama. In it we encounter the dramatis and the dream and the natural bulwark the dream creates regarding the ability of man to truly know. Our objective in it is to find a world consensus.

In such circumstances, the man turns to the woman. Beyond that it is the privacy of every man in the way he develops his understanding. In this there is expected to be many excesses of enthusiasm. The notion of coming to know for the first time is a powerful one … it can bend the mind. The man who rises above his defenses and his excesses moves beyond and on his way to knowing.

Not a lot of philosophical pieces on here. Nice to see. Some deep thought. If I could make one suggestion... the sentence structure is great and it has a pleasant flow, but maybe bring the language level down just a bit and make it tad more accessible.
