The Legend of the DreamA Story by DayranLittle People Series : VThe theme of little people brings up many curious associated odds and ends that forms considerable interest regarding the life of babies and the continued role they play in the lives of adults. The Indic believes that the baby is the perfect human experience in its tissues until he is influenced by many other factors. Self realization therefore involves returning into accord with our natural born selves.
The Christian ethic refers to the born again experience that is not expected to be very different from the view of self discovery. The depiction of the Christ as a baby in the manger is certainly informative about the geneology of man in the mammalian experience. It suggests that we start with something small to understand something quite big.
The theme centers around the idea that in attempting to understand the world and universe a person should simply understand their individual selves. ' Know Thyself ' said the oracle at Apollo. The theme recurs in the way Neanderthal man evolved into the smaller homo sapien and perhaps in the way the Neanderthal himself developed from giant apes, some of whom are still expected to be alive as the yeti or abnominable snowman.
In an associated view, one encounters the politically incorrect term of midget or dwarf, which should be properly termed as little people. The psychology of such persons and its relation to babies bears close resemblance to the accounts of fairy tales, pixies, elves and leprechauns. The incredible tales of Gulliver's Travels, Asterix and Obelix and the stories of the druids in Irish folklore make for interesting reading.
In the process of self realization and coming into contact with ourselves, we encounter all these personalities and their continued evolving qualities. To engage them is to review the many legends and stories that are spun around them while they were still a dream in our experience. It makes for a colorful encounter and redefines self realization as a study instead of a hidden mountain mysticism.
Our families are the greatest resource for this. In the 21st century this may be the new vocation of the specialist parent with a deep insight into life and its processes. Childbirth and raising a family may no longer be termed as the work of the layman.
