Horizons of the Earth

Earth, Wind, Fire, Water Series : I

I seem to recall her saying

That she needed a little help

She had to get the men going.

 

She then pointed to megaliths

And other stone statues of men

To say that she was almost done.

 

When I expressed consternation

She pointed out the need to think

That man should do so by himself.

 

She said t'was just a little work

A matter of smoke mirror pray

That it ought to snap into shape.

 

Well it didn't and made things worse

Men fell into a fiery pit

Then resurrected from the weak.

 

It works fine now and even great

And I'm left to ponder faith

Did earth have a plan all along?
