The Chronicles of Sewell's PointA Screenplay by DayranFables from The Quick Brown Fox : VIII( A scene on the sports grounds. Brown
Fox has climbed up a tree. )
Lazy Dog : Will you get down from there? I'm not going to hurt you!
Brown Fox : You don't know what you want to do! You just told me in the scopo* to hit you. If I hit you you'll hit me back.
Lazy Dog : I only did that because I'm getting confused inside. I'm starting to think I'm a fox.
Brown Fox : That's your problem!… you don't know how to manage these things … you think by fighting and creating a separation between us we manage the self better.
Lazy Dog : That's why my ancient father wrote the ' Mahabarata ' …. so we'll remain fighting.
Brown Fox : And ' Sewell's Point,' nobody thought it would happen ... but it did and it kept going ... But do we need to be doing that? My calluses have blisters.
Lazy Dog : That's piles. Lean forward on the seat … We need a separation from each other. In fact everytime we get too close for comfort we may need to break-away for a while.
( Brown Fox comes down from the tree. They sit around without speaking ).
Lazy Dog : Is this why animals fight?
Brown Fox : And birds, humans and nature itself … its why we have volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, storms, forest fires and wars …
Lazy Dog : And once it has separated beyond what it can deal with, it seeks to reconcile ?
Brown Fox : ' Making up later… that's what a fight is all about ' … its something a former girlfriend of mine used to say.
Lazy Dog : So what can we do?
Brown Fox : Specialization my friend … you take the front door I take the back … you do the facade, the meaning, purpose, knowledge of what we are … I'll do the sports, the beauty, love and the physical activity. Then we bring it together to a union of purpose with beauty.
Lazy Dog : ( frowns ) Did you do the front before and I was at … ?
Brown Fox : ( quickly ) Water under the bridge old boy … this is the new deal!
