Fables from The Quick Brown Fox : VI

"

( A scene in the exhibit room of the club. The exhibit is featuring cloned copies of artifacts and paintings from mythology. )

Brown Fox : Did you hear?

Lazy Dog : Hear what?

Brown Fox : The Fink is back! I saw him this morning. The Club must have re-admitted his membership.

Lazy Dog : ( shakes his head ) That man is positively evil.

Brown Fox : Crazy stuff ! … at least the Club had some life when he was around.

Lazy Dog : … but screwing the steward in the Club Chapel … that's a bit much …

Brown Fox : Yeah, but they said it was the religious exhibits that caused all those weird things to occur during that week last summer.

Lazy Dog : Oh, we're into superstition now?

Brown Fox : It was the worship of the walrus in ancient times … the walrus was viewed as God's most pious creature because it moved on its knees in adoration of God's creation. It was only later that it became a phallic symbol.

Lazy Dog : Didn't Lewis Carol … ?

Brown Fox : Yeah … and then George Lucas did something similar with Jabba the Hut in ' Star Wars.'

Lazy Dog : So the Fink will be re-admitted to the Board of Governors?

Brown Fox : The way I heard it … they limit the numbers on the board to only 30 individuals … no more, no less. Mr. Fink may have missed his boat.

Lazy Dog : That's curious isn't it? What's with that?

Brown Fox : Its the occult. A man has 30 allies, his popularity is only with 30 people, he is only trusted by that same number and that's the concept of the club. Its the personal relation idea. Why else would they call it the One Man Society?

Lazy Dog : Well ( coughs ) … you learn something new everyday.
