Fables of the Quick Brown Fox : Prologue

Fables of the Quick Brown Fox : Prologue

A Screenplay by Dayran

Lazy Dog : Will you quit already! Can't you sit still for a moment?

Brown Fox : Time is money, my friend. How come you are lying down doing nothing the whole

day?

Lazy Dog : I don't have to do anything. My master feeds me regular. I just have to smooch up to

him a little each day.

Brown Fox : That must be satisfying … doing nothing and getting rewarded.

Lazy Dog : That's a matter of perspective. I happen to think I am man's best friend.

Brown Fox : Well I think that's shameful. Pigs do more for man than you. At least pigs give

themselves up for food.

Lazy Dog : I'm happy for the pigs. But you won't find me doing that. Dying for someone … that's

the silliest thing anyone can do.

Brown Fox : I guess you won't protect your master from an intruder or mugger?

Lazy Dog : I might … and I might die … but I would be dying for my best friend.

Brown Fox : And the difference is ...

Lazy Dog : Well … we all choose how we die. Its what makes sense to us.

Brown Fox : Dying happy … that's a new one.

Lazy Dog : Dying in the wilds … like a tree fallen in the forest for no one to see.

Brown Fox : When you die you'll die alone. No one else will die with you.

Lazy Dog : We'll see.
