Musings with Old Friends : X

"
I have never met a man who defined what a man is without including in it what a woman thinks a man ought to be. The quaint way in which people express the deep personal relations between a man and a woman, leaves out a great deal that is related to the Gods, the world and to the creative forces. For a curious reason a man's talk about a woman he loves excludes all else. A person would wonder if it should be so.

No doubt what is involved here is the very private nature of the sexual experience. This is compounded by what I refer to as the privacy of the prick in a man's experience. He finds it hard to step aside and view his prick objectively. So much for our training in the science disciplines.

In the experience of that privacy a man may even keep from himself the intimations of his sexual impulses, hide what may well be a collusion of purpose with others, manipulate the wife, put infantile pressure on his mother for affection, lay claim to issues for which he doesn't know the origin and enjoy an attitude of flexibility that stretches the truth of reports.

However we accept all these as normal in a world society on account of its prevalent nature. Besides the issues engaged do not allow for clear research or discussion without it overlapping into other matters.

It is on account of these and conditions such as these that cast a shadow over gender relations today. And why a gentleman would grant the benefit of the doubt to the woman on issues that engage them. Curiously this also accounts for the strange experience of the female/male side to each person and the service that we draw such faculties to.

At the end of the day, in a life lived in relation to a wife, a man may bring himself to consider the extent of the flexibility he exercised with regards to his sexual impulses and drives. Without the pressure of work, financial commitments, children, friendships and the competitive environment, the man may discover his own true self in relation to such impulses. He may also find that they have been the basis of most of his other initiatives.

This does make a case for the importance of understanding oneself. A man needs to know such things. So does his will and conscience.
