The Actor, the Player and the ManticanA Story by DayranTales of Resemblances :XIX
A trip to Las Vegas will introduce a person to players. On Broadway in New York you'll meet actors. But if you wanted to meet Manticans, you'll have to go all the way to your neighbour's house next door ... sometimes distance is a big factor in the fact that our eyes look but they don't see.
We all do that everyday, I mean, add ourselves and our perceptions to the growing form of life in the world. The man or men who invented the World Wide Web certainly did that. Perhaps the illustration is clearer when remembering the impact of the Beatles in the 60s.
In Indic practices they came to teach and enlighten the individual, his impact on the world and to realize that the result of it comes back to him regularly for review. Such a student is called a Kalainyar or ' a man of the arts.' Western legends used to refer to life as the ' arts of Juno.' No doubt the practice is not unknown in the West.
Indic studies of self realization do not merely stop at some point of self gratification. It moves from there to the final achievement ... that of the Kalainyar. He is recruited thereafter for temple ceremonies, wedding rituals, birth rites, death, settle quarrels and set up learning in schools of thought. In the period, 1000 bc to 500 bc, the practice was very active in the then post Vedic Indic practice. The same may be said of the Hellenistic Elysium that took place about the same period.
A Kalainyar today operates under a specific plan of thought in life. In that he engages two agents who represent his experience of male and female, mother and father. He thinks through these, as instruments of his thought. How active he is, depends on how much he brings to this scheme that is new, relevant and produces results in their joint endeavour. This is also validated against the observations of events in the world on a daily basis.
This helps us to identify with people we engage on a daily basis. There are three kinds. There's the one who sticks to what the male model says ... that's Sattwic ( pure & theoretical ). Then there's the one who stays with the mother model for support ... that's Tamasic ( joyful, playful ). Then there's the kid ... Rajasic ( active, doing things right).
There is a fourth but nobody who has seen him is able to say anything about that. I guess that would be anything you want him to be in relation to the fundamental three aspects. Right ... that's it then. Oops! ... I just remembered, the term Mantican is only for the American Kalainyar in today's times. That's some kind of a bird.
