Not Artificial IntelligenceA Story by DayranA World before Time : IV
I was 11 years of age, on my way to school and having spotted a particularly beautiful girl, had followed her into the wrong public bus. Or as in a recent experience, I had polished off half a bottle of rum and was suddenly consumed by an illumination of the natural intelligence of life. If such is the case, why the elaborate organization of life and society as we know it in the world?
It appears on review that life reflects on itself and persuades the human to enter into the arrangement and put into his own words his experience of the phenomenon. Is that like ... necessary?
In the grand scheme of nature, it has come to cultivating in animals and plants the rudiments of intelligence that is capable of supporting life and ensure its survival. In man it is capable of backing up its past experiences in the animals and bring that around in a different way to man and like artificial intelligence can have the man operate heavy machinery and the normal routines of life. The man in such a state is a witness to the way his life is run.
A child growing up in relation to his mother may feel something similar. There's however a record of a protest by the mind and body at such an experience. This has its origin in the life force and is adamant that any management of the individual by anyone or anything is an ultra vires action on its person. It seeks to break free thereafter and manage itself.
The issue says as much about the constitution of the life force as its does the intrinsic nature of the mind. That to do something well it ought to do it for one person only. In coming to a better management of ourselves thereafter we are better able to contribute to others. It is simply a matter of doing just one thing well.
In doing so, we understand why nature breaks away from handling man like artificial intelligence. In man it comes to realize just how special it is and in doing so, it can, beyond its achievement with the animals and the plants, feel proud of itself. It wants to pat itself on the back.
However, what man may yet learn to do is to pat himself on his back without drawing too much attention to himself. We make many inquiries in this area these days for handling it better. Our self conscious creates an immediate self denial, for to be in that way self sufficient we become solely responsible for our experience of ourselves, without involving others.
