A World before Time : I

Its a word that doesn't mean anything. Only what we bring to it; as in referring to a certain state of the creative impulse before man became conscious of time. There's considerable literature in relation to this. The Indic legends of the Puranas and Western legends of Olympus bear testimony to this experience. They both refer to such experiences as timeless and it is implied that while they don't overtly refer to anyone in particular they still insist that they refer to the all.

We have since come to accept such representations in good faith. It came to us through our father and mother, friends, the society and the constant references to the institutions of faith in the community.

But when we wake up one day to the especially bright rays of the sun we commence a practice of looking at how we think and what we do. It is perhaps the dawn of inquiry in the mind of an individual who used to think that the world revolved around him. Okay, right ... so what's the alternative?

To return to that period before time, a man may need to pack a lunch. Perhaps even bring along some camping gear. And then give his mind over to the clues that has been given to us in the writings before. An early intimation regarding the vastness of that which we seek persuades us that such knowledge could not have been given to just one person or group. Life seeks to protect and preserve itself even while it is creating itself. It seeks to understand whether this is the best it can do, can it do more? What is the greatest most optimized experience regarding itself?

Indic experience referred to it as a family. The Western, in a modernized version, refers to itself as The Wizard of Oz. In putting the two together we find a curious state of elements that may have existed before time. There's the notion of man ( Siva ) and his sister ( time ). Then there's the tin man ( tech ), the lion ( passions ) and the scarecrow ( whodunit ). And then of course there's HER ( no clue ).

When we put them all together we get Obiyansky. It is today, the first time anyone may have come this far to put it together. But the world is growing and put together we must, for it is persistently persuasive.
