A man pursuing the human ideal and in the process cultivating a disregard for all else has a doctor for a companion. It is to help him understand the nature of illnesses and the injuries that come from the violent responses on the part of others. The cultivation of a human personality often emphasizes the mere knowledge of our lives and builds an attitude that resembles arrogance. This doesn't help the cause.

' Knowledge is having it to apply it,' said Berkeley and a man would find no truer aphorism regarding knowledge. It is not the mere experience of being right and avoiding the episodes of being wrong. Its about the methodology and organization we undertake to collate the knowledge that is everything. It allows us a review of our experiences and correct them when we are obviously wrong about something.

In the experience of ourselves as the human quality, we also need to cultivate a social attitude with regards to those who represent the divine idea and the proto-animae. This is important. It defines the social nature of the man and his realization that the play in life is cultivated by the divine and the proto, not him. As human he contributes to the way that all the plays take place with some relevance to each other under the sheltering sky.

The divine idea may be observed as seeking the human achievement for itself but it holds firmly to its own as its right to life. It founds itself on the dreams that it experiences and creates a relevance of such dream experiences, in an indexed reference to its daily life. The proto-animae, representing the physical nature of the being relies on the sanctity of what exists. If it exists it must be true and it forms all manner of devotion to accept that. It emphasizes the simple and not necessarily civil survival of human life.

The human is therefore challenged with an important issue. In the constantly changing landscape of life, the divine keeps changing the play and the proto adapts to the new conditions. The human in realizing the change traces its development from previous knowledge and brings an account of the new knowledge to the world. The rest rely on him for it and he tries not to let them down.
