Schooling With Father

A father is a phenomenon, in some ways,

I don't recall any particular study of his role,

But these times, there's.....how do the teens say it?

Like there's a need to know for certain,

What a father is. Its strange even to say that,

But the matter has come to some aggravated inquiry,

In a lot of places and it appears, to me, relevant,

To speak of it and to bring clarity to it.

A father's best friend is the daughter, she understands him,

But it needs considerable refinement to work.

A son plays a unique role in the father's life,

Where such a role is to bring cognizance of the world,

By the learning that the son undertakes,

Which is thereafter affirmed by the father.

The mother shares in the magic of life that father lives,

I wish I could make this clearer but alas,

The children in a household create too much fuss,

Regarding their roles, such that father and mother,

In their relations come to an irascible sense,

Of the true nature of magic in their lives.

Which is not to say that children are at fault,

Quite the contrary, children grow up with learning,

That affirms the magical nature of the life of parents,

Which the parents are obliged to do as part of their roles,

So that the world comes to a clear cognition of who we are,

And the ability to express the wondrous nature of life,

In words that are simple and easy to understand,

And the fact that communicating such experiences,

Brings a magical touch to relations, where words themselves,

Convey such expressions of the individual magic we all feel,

Within ourselves, in the many contortions of sensations.

There...I think this might be a start to speaking of these things,

Which is a little more than what my daughter might say,

As being totally cool ....meaning I think its okay to do so!
