The DreamA Poem by Dayranby Dayran
Like the tall tales of a Sinbad Where diamonds are rock sized. A Bal who thought himself the son Of a god that is almighty in heaven. The Mayans who gave their hearts On the stone steps of sacrifice. The Nubians who figured self, world, Of a Copernicus who claimed earth's place, A Jerusalem that was thought the home. The living void of the Mussalman, The Tao of the Oriental in virginity, Puranams, that Indics claimed literal, We, the people, come from all these. To set up a government and society, That may grow, transform and be, That which we are ... in the all, And the all of the experience of being. That we divine a god to oversee us In our activities and love lives. May he long live in our hearts And the mind that he helped create.
