A Social BeingA Poem by Dayranby Dayran
It hasn't been that long, I don't think, So it was fun to run into some teens, Just the other day, calling out themselves, From that maze of sweet sorrow they live in. It began with the classical storming initiative, One person being named beautiful before others, It began an outpour of many kinds, but it held, Then began the norming aspect to hold on, To what was obviously a long impression, Experienced by everyone about this person, That others had not ventured to realize. Thereafter the conversation slowed down, Creating acceptance, cutting down resistance, And finally forming a view of themselves, With her in it, bashful and acting undeserved. But it was the matrix that held them as one, That appealed to the one in each of them, They fought to keep it and store it intact. Then suddenly, the chosen, herself, broke taboo, She accepted and graced a pride of self, Then kaboom, the axe came in and took the head. Why? I thought in my own bewilderment, watching, You praise someone, insist that they agree, Then when she does, its ' off with her head.' Then it slowly occured to me. Its perfect.
