And I Took Her LifeA Poem by Mr.Delian RipleyThis piece is very near and dear to my heart. It chronicles an experience that had an immense impact on my perspective.
Confusion and disillusion carefully crafted scenery. Life’s motion granted emotions Which were strange and new to me. So logically- I took a woman in my strife. Her hair flowed from her head and dripped to her shoulders. Dark, yet benign like the ocean, I took her solely as my lover So steeped in momentary devotion. Things forbidden and wrong can oft be so worth it. What is life to some without the thrill? The most beautiful hunters we know, the lions Hunt for kill but also hunt for primal thrill. So I took thrill to escape from pain and strife. And one cool summer night I took her life Not out of love, yet not of anger. More out of primal reason, Physical want, But at its core emotional thrill. Strange feelings can make even the sane act as strange. Sometimes they can drive one to kill. Yet as she died I saw a glimpse of pleasure in her eyes. That in retrospect comes to my surprise As we laid on the grass within a field. She died of a blade That was more personal than steel. I found someone who brought me pleasure in my strife. And one cool summer night, I took her life. © 2009 Mr.Delian RipleyAuthor's Note
