Dust to Spirit

Dust to Spirit

A Poem by Christy Hauck
"

a song about a man who went missing and returns a decade later to his hometown

"

What is your name?

'cause it's defintely not mine

I have been gone so long

that I guess I died

Yet, here I stand

alive and well

staring down at you

You were incomplete

Now your soul is home

The gaps have been filled

You are no longer broken

Broken stems litter the ground

I have found my home again

No one knew the man I was

No one knew the man that took my name

Name your spirit

Before it turns to dust

Name your spirit

Before I rot away

What is your name?

'cause it's defintely not mine

I have been gone so long

that I guess I died

Yet, here I stand

alive and well

staring down at you

I tend to write Urban Fantasy, but that is because everytime I sit down to write anything but that, I always end up brainstorming some weird fictional thing that does not factor into the environment o.. more..
