Give WayA Poem by FabianaA reflectionLooking at the spinning blades of the fan I’m reminded of the whirling of skirts on summer days On those days when the sun held no weight The endless sky held the promise of laughter forever And of fireflies to take us to far away dreams But then the moon rose into my life Its seductive pull reflecting the light from the fiery ball I followed you up into the clouds To watch you kiss distant worlds Only to find that they are cold and distant The adventures promised seem so short lived They blink out and as I grow closer to the lights I wonder what next? If these treasures hold no fireworks If they hold grey endless winter Instead of the fire that was foretold All of the fireflies have left us Only a desert of nothing remains © 2013 FabianaReviews
