An imaginary clock is ticking. Drops trickle down my arms. I sit in the darkness, swooning over the unreal figures taking shape in my eyes. I think this is how it feels to be blind? To not experience color, not see the ones we love, we hold dear. An ever binding darkness.
But when I close my eyes, I can imagine a better light. Where color hasn’t faded, where life is brimming. Then I think how I take everything in front of me for granted. Bitterness always forming at the base of my tongue, ready to spew any nonsense, to curse, to get frustrated. I forget to breathe and just live... © 2019 Dreamer |
