Where is my place?

Where is my place?

A Poem by Dreamer

There is a big question,
That seems impossible,
To answer.
What is my purpose?
Where is my place?
Am I just another person,
Being exploited into
America's capitalist system?
Or am I more?
I can't tell,
Since I can only live
In a society
That says
You must have valuable items
To hold any value in this world
It's no wonder
People choose to pursue
Higher positions
Ignoring their passions
What drives them forward
Pressures that are placed
Liveliness is lost
Addiction gained to cope
With this stressed out life
We must face
How terrible
How cruel
Can we truly be?
To others,
To our environment,
To ourselves.
